its located in one of the quieter parts of Chennai,5 minutes to Marina Beach
A Value for Money hotel,Its a old hotel but rooms seem to have been renovated.
Located ideally for the those who come in for the Music festival a lot of people seemed to be staying 10-15 days for the Music Festival in Dec.
There a good Mall near the beach and good restaurants a short walk from the hotel.Not much to do in the Hotel they have a decent pool and a reasonable gym Also a spa which they promote but we did not get a chance to use.They have a outsourced travel desk which is reasonably priced also They have a decent Breakfast spread.
The trick in Chennai in case you are going to Kanchipuram or Mahabalipuram for a day is to leave the hotel by 7.00 am and avoid the traffic and try to be back at the hotel by 5 or after 9 as traffic in Chennai is a killer.

I stayed here for a day during my recent trip in Dec 2011. The hotel is good and is in the central business district. The hotel room was nice, clean and decent and the service was good. I did not get much time to review the entire hotel facilities however liked the room ambience where I spent the night. The breakfast had a nice spread and my family liked it. It is a good business hotel but may not be perfect choice for a vacation trip.

Visited here for a business trip and the first impressions of this hotel from the common areas are pretty nice. As other travelers have noted, this hotel needs a refurb - hallways to the rooms are dark, the carpet is worn and there was a distinct mildew\mold smell in the first room I was offered. Do not hesitate to go back to the front desk and ask for a better room.

So what worked in this hotel:
1) Best mattress in my entire trip to India.
2) Awesome hotel on the 11th floor.
3) Laundry service was great.
4) Great pick-up and drop-off service to the airport.

While I rated this hotel average in many of the areas, it was just barely average. Of the three hotels I visited in India, this one had the most issues.

The hotel is really good, it has 3 different restaurants. The room quality were good, but it lacks the modern appeal. The food was perfect, above all the service is the best that I have experienced. I can say this because I got viral fever during my trip, but thanks to the staff they arranged the doctor, my medicines, food everything was taken care by them giving me a home like experience. Superb people, they were great..!!
