The Crocodile Bank is a great place, and you will be hard pressed to see more crocodiles kept in one place, in such good condition. After seeing the snake park and childrens park iN Chennai this was a breath of fresh air. We actually spent 2 days here volunteering as part of my work so I got to see some of the behind the scenes working of the park, and must say that the people here are a really nice bunch!
We did however also spend some time walking around the park which houses a lot of crocs in very nice enclosures which show off the animals in a nice way, while still giving them what they need. There are a lot of staff walking around to ensure that no one interferes with the animals. If you get the chance wait to see Jaws get fed... He is a HUGE croc and worth seeing out of the water.
They do a lot of work with the local Irula people with the women selling natural remedies and cosmetics from a small stall there if I remember rightly, while the men show you how they extract the venom from snakes to sell it for making antivenom. This is a fascinating thing to see and gives you an insight in to what to expect from one of the outings which the Croc Bank can organise for you with the Irulas.
We went on a snake walk with the Irulas one morning which lasted approximately 4 hours. It is done early so that it is not yet too hot, and the walk, even though quite long in that heat and humidity was fairly relaxed and very enjoyable. The Irulas guides take you around the area by the Croc Bank to try and find snakes, and other wildlife to show you in their natural habitat. I had hoped to see Cobras but had no luck. We did however see 5 snake species (2 of which were venomous) some scorpions and various other insects. The Irulas are absolutel masters when it comes to finding snakes.

Clean & Tidy
Very friendly staff
Negative Points -
I did not see any food and drink stalls in the park, although there were street vendors just outside the entrance and shops on the opposite side of the street.
