After taking a review from tripadvisor, and have been enjoying itc hotel groups hospitality, i booked this hotel in Feb. 2012 but was surprised to find that the word service does not exist in this hotel.
To start with, I will describe the hotel telephone system, all the nos. are mentioned on the dailer but when the phone is lifted immediately the ring starts which is connected to reception.. First of all no one picks up, if by chance anyone pick it up then we have to request him our requirement of room service, house keeping and anyother service, if you are lucky the message will be passed o/wise the staff who took the message must have either forgotton or make himself busy in any other work, resulting have to remind second time, but you will find a different person when u call again. so u have to explain him again about your required services.
Secondly, the property is so old, there is no maintainance in toilets or A/c.
Toiletries and other House keeping service is only supplied if you keep on asking them.
Had the chance of having breakfast on our first day, there were some marraige party guest
who were eating the buffet breakfast as if they have not eaten for days, which resulted
no supply of buffet items, or of poor quality food..
There are atleast seating capacity of 50 guest in zodiac restaurant where breakfast is served
but there were only two waiters serving all the tables and dont know what they have to do..
On my complaiin, the next day the free guest of marraige party was seperated from regular revenue guest. but all other services were as usual poor.
Another interesting incident taken place at the time of check out, the cashier prepared the bill
at his own rate (i dont know from where he got the same) and the price confirmed at the time of receiption on line was not acceptable to him, inspite of showing him the email message receive from the online reservation..
Even the duty manager was called and after strong persuation he agree for the rate mentioned in the confirmation copy provided i submit him the copy of confirmation and the net was not working in lobby, more interesting is when i present my credit card the cashier was unable to charge it, saying my cards are faulty, when i presented him four cards and all was not accepted online, i noticed that his machine was not making call as there was no zero facility available on his instrument, finally i was detained for an hour and i missed my flight due to their nonsense service, which resulted a loss of 16,000 Rs for two pax..
please beware of the ITC group or Welcome Group, as not all their hotels and services are same everywhere, same experience i had even with Taj Group Hotels in India.
Room Tip: Dont choose rooms towards Road side, as it is too noisy all the time
