“A home away from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 March 2011

This is a bungalow located in a quiet, residential area, with the extra rooms let out to guests. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Manoj, and his family into their home. Our rooms, located on the second floor (which required us to climb up & down a bit), were clean, adequately furnished and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They have converted their terrace into an open-air restaurant where a variety of scrumptious, home-cooked (by Mrs. Manoj) meals are served. Mr. Manoj even arranged for a taxi to collect us from the airport on account of our flight getting delayed. I'd definitely want to stay here again.

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2011

I stayed in Snehdeep in 2007 February for 2 days. Mr Manoj was very helpful. Being a first time traveller to Rajasthan with young children I was quite apprehensiv. However, after talking to Mr Manoj, we felt very relieved. He picked us from the Gurudwara bus stop , made us comfortable, arranged taxi and even arrnaged for our accomodation in a very decent hotel in Agra which is run by his friend. I found the food a bit expensive that time. Had problems with geyser but room boy arranged for hot water. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I'd recommend to everyone-Thomas, Bangalore

“Great Option for Solo Women Travellers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

I am just back from a 5-day trip to Jaipur to attend the annual Jaipur Literature Fest. Had great fun there and the stay was also pleasant because of my stay at the Snehdeep guest house. I found Snehdeep on the net and then looked it up on Tripadvisor. Although most of its reviews were good, I was slightly apprehensive because of just one negative review I read on this site - it's funny how we immediately factor in the negative to make a judgement.

However, my own stay there has been pleasant. Snehdeep is a family-run place. While the family stays in a separate unit on the ground floor, the guest rooms are on the floors above. I found my interaction with the owner, Manojji, helpful and non-intrusive. In fact, the whole family seemed really sweet. As a woman travelling on my own, it's important for me to stay at a place where I feel secure and comfortable. From my somewhat limited experience of solo traveling, I've found that budget hotels don't work many times - there's a big chance that I may stick out like a sore thumb amidst Indian families and business travellers. And the attitude of the hotel staff can also be a bit off - they usually don't know how to deal with an Indian woman travelling on her own. So, a place like Snehdeep makes great sense for me - it is run by open-minded people that are used to receiving guests from all over the world. In fact, I found that there is a Japanese woman doing her P.H.D. who has been staying at Snehdeep off and on - for months together - for the past many years.

One thing that I'd been worried about after reading the reviews was that Snehdeep's distance from the city centre might be quite large. But it didn't turn out to be so - although it's not bang in the middle of the citty, it's well-connected and I didn't find either the commuting or the actual distances any hassle.

This is a good place if you are travelling on your own or you want to stay with a local family and get an insight into how they live. Another plus is that Manojji is extremely knowledgeable about Rajasthan. In addition, he is a devoted conservationist and very well travelled. You can easily make this place a starting point for further travels in Rajasthan once you get an idea of what all is possible.

This is a great place for budget travellers and solo women travellers. Highly recommended!

Dear Ritu
We all at Sneh Deep ( Light of love) are so happy that our small gestures were noticed by you and could comfort you during your stay here.We wish to congratulate you for few things one is that you could really touch upon points like distance from city, reliability of stay and our philosophy in running this small budget geust house where we try to give informations for travel to compensate for what you miss in terms of luxuries here.
There is a flow in your text which we are amazed to see. in fact to say what you think also needs a special skill and you have shown it in your review.
We will look forward to see you at sneh deep whenever you wish to come again. It would be a pleasure to be with you again.
Thanks a lot for your review from all of us.

“A nice place for the budget conscious, although quite far from MI Road.”

Our initial disappointment upon discovering that the place was a regular house with bedrooms that are let out quickly melted away following the warm welcome that we received from the owner, Manoj, and his family. The cuisine is simply great and the rooms are comfortable. The only problem is the location - it's a residential area almost 4 km from MI Road. So, you have to spend Rs. 150 ~ 250 for a round trip to the city/market. If you have your own car, this is a great place to stay!

“Charming rooms, outstanding value and the ecologically-minded owners are the best!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

We had the most delightful 2-night stay in the Snehdeep ("Light of Love" for the light and love that Manoj's (the owner's) mother started in this house long ago that currently is a Guest House. The owners were extremely knowledgeable, so much so that we asked the owner to drive us around and be our guide for the day when our original arrangements
suddenly failed. We learned a substantial amount about Jaipur while seeing the sights with Manoj, a very knowledgeable environmentalist . And we learned about the local birds, historical and cultural aspects of the city. The food was healthy and delicious here, and we ended up eating all of our meals at Sneh-Deep due to their great meals. The owner's wife has a Ph.D in food and nutrition and has trained her staff well. The two young men who work in the house are very sweet (Kamlesh and Man Singh) and were extremely helpful. The guest house has their own washing machine so the towels and sheets are clean and fresh (no pan stains!). The rooms are full of natural light and delightful Rajasthani hand-block printed fabrics. The terrace on the roof is truly delightful with a good view of the surrounding area! The price is low and worth it, location is excellent on the entry from Delhi and Agra and you will love the warm and friendly owners and their family, the elderly man in the family is a former professor of zoology with outstanding knowledge of animals and snakes that you have seen on your travels. Try the Sneh-Deep Guest House--you won't be disappointed! Do see if Manoj is available to take you around to see the sights.
