“Good quality hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Had high hopes/expectations of this hotel, and they were met. It’s a real oasis away from the bustle outside, but full of charm and character. Helpful and friendly staff; a nice courtyard restaurant; and a good pool area (perhaps could do with some more sunbeds). We had a great “old world style” room (not sure they are all like that). Evening meals were tasty; maybe the menu could have a few more “not so spicy” choices on it, but the food quality was good. A good quality hotel.

“Beautiful Hotel and Charming Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed 4 nights at the Samode Haveli for the Jaipur International Writer's Festival. The Samode was a devine and a most beautiful retreat to come 'home' to after the busy traffic and exciting festival. I just loved the beautiful gardens, courtyard with fountains and birds singing, trees festooned with paper kites which sailed up and inside from children playing outside the walls. We enjoyed Gin&Tonics by the stunning pool on comfortable lounge chairs. Along the walkways to the Pool were terracotta pots planted with huge very colourful dahlias and
other exotic flowers. Bougainvillea draped the old stone walls and pomergranite trees with their fruit being enjoyed by little birds decorated the courtyard area.
In the evening we sat outside under the stars and moon with gas burners and open log fire
braziers and were served a delicious dinner by most elegant and charming waiters ..such a gorgeous setting.
Our special suite was beautifully decorated with interesting pictures and comfortable beds, elegant bathroom with great amenities. Thank you to all the Management and staff a the Samode Haveli for such wonderful service and attention..I look forward to returning to this beautiful Hotel in Jaipur.

Room Tip: Enjoy the day as much as the evening at this beautiful hotel...I am sure all the rooms are lovely...

We stayed 4 days in this wonderful haveli in Old Jaipur. Very well maintained with the owners living on the property. Charming well appointed rooms. The service and food were very good, and the dining room and public spaces warm and welcoming.

“Perfect Upscale Hotel for Jaipur”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

We booked the hotel for a stay of three nights including the New Year celebration. The hotel has no spectacular driveway or image from outside, but once inside it is simply very very perfect nice.

We enjoyed the hotel extremely much, as it is a calm and quite and lovely place in a city, which is burstling and full of life and noise.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly

The service was impeccable.

Although the weather did not allow the usage of the pool, it is very very nice situated and the whole hotel is nicely renovated. We had been most impressed - especially the breakfast room is breathtaking.

We stayed in a suite in the back house as supposedly there was no other room available. We doubt that the hotel was fully booked, but once we saw it, we found ourselves extremely happy about the suite and especially the bathroom was extremely spacious and simply spectacular.

There is absolute nothing to be mentioned, which spoils or perfect image for this hotel!!!!

Perfect stay and most perfect service. We did not eat much in the hotel as we enjoyed authentical Indian restaurants in the city.

We have very nice memories for this hotel!

“It's good but not charming!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We spent 1 night here and so take my review with that in mind. We arrived super early at 6am. Check in is usually at noon or later but they kindly let us have our beautiful suite at the new wing at the back of the property close to the pool. Perhaps because we checked in so early there was no fanfare to meet our arrival. We did get some masala chai though. We stayed there to experience staying in a haveli - which we didn't really since we were not in the old part of the haveli. So if you want to experience staying in an old haveli then make sure you ask for those rooms. However, we did not realise this until sunrise and we didn't bother complaining.

However, there was nothing to complain about the room we had. Very clean and luxurious.
The haveli is located in a back corner of the old town but it is beautiful especially the breakfast room. The breakfast buffet was OK-nothing amazing or special in comparison to other similiar places we have stayed at. I have to mention this breakfast room again because it is stunning. We hardly spent anytime at the hotel but the little time we did (for instance by the pool having drinks) i felt the staff attentiveness was lacking and could be improved!

In my mind, no matter how beautiful a place is if you don't feel charmed or attended to by the staff overall then it is just a good hotel and fails to register anything more eventhough it probably has all the potential to do so!
