Walking through the wide sparsley lit corridors, late at night with various decor and paintings of Mogul and Rajput emperors starting at me gave me a haunting yet wonderful experience.
It was the Monsoon season, the hotel was empty, except for a few tenants occupying this large "mansion". Hotel being empty was actually a plus for us, as we got to use its facilities and dining without any crowds. The reception staff were very friendly and professional, they greeted us and made sure our checkin process was super quick. I was however disappointed, being a GOLD priority club member, NOT offered a free room upgrade (especially since the hotel was 90% empty!)
The Room was spacious, finishing is good, with lavish use of marble and wood. The Toilet was constructed out of marble which gives it a luxury finish. I must say though some facilities within the room are in need of an upgrade, such as tap and shower heads which were in very poor condition (uneven water spray and pressure), also lack of toilet washer in an Indian city is a minus. Bed while comfortable, Keep in Mind that this hotel does not have KING beds, although advertised as such, the beds are actually twin beds joined together, couples might find this uncomfortable as the beds tend to slide away. I do hope Holiday Inn addresses this problem in the future.
Breakfast was Fantastic, i couldn't ask for more. Good varieties of western and indian breakfast, regular dishes such as omelet, eggs, beans, sausages, dosas, etc. We were satisfied and happy with this.
The hotel offers a "Travel Desk" located inside the building, this is however not owned or controlled by the hotel but operated by another TOUR operator. This Travel desk is Good, Mr Singh who sits there and also doubles as the driver was very helpful and friendly throughout all the trips we took via this desk, i highly recommend that you stick to Mr Singh as your driver. Do note that their prices are not the best, they are slightly overpriced but i wouldn't say its a "rip off" . Try your best to negotiate the prices as they can be stubborn with discounts and do not book via the hotel reception, instead book with the travel desk directly as to avoid extra charges.
As i mentioned earlier, service was good and friendly, room service did a good job cleaning up the room. Avoid in-room dining if you can, as the quality of in-room food wasn't very impressive and was overpriced.
Overall, i highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Jaipur, and i do hope Holiday Inn management improves upon their shortcoming that i mentioned in this review.
