“Ok I suppose”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Review refers to Amer Road, Holiday Inn - Soul-less hotel that seems to cater for the cheap and cheer end of the market though I suppose that could summarise this chain anywhere in the world! Served as a ok sleeping spot though I have never been in such an atmosphere-less hotel in my life. Final point, sadly, the reception staff seem to have taken lessons in being grumpy with western tourists!

Room Tip: Restaurant was kinda cheerless - will do if you are stuck but would suggest that you go into Jaipur...

“Nice short trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed at Holiday Inn Jaipur for two nights for short weekend break with family and friends. Location is good, close to the market and tourist places and yet away from the hustle bustle of city. Friendly staff and nice and clean room with decent interiors. Only issue was that despite our request our room had two beds instead of one king size bed and since we had a toddler it was bit of a problem. Other than that service, food etc were all good.
They have a mid size pool on the back side which was also clean. Only thing missing was a garden and some swings for the kids, but then i guess its more of a business hotel than a family one.
Overall i guess its decently priced three star hotel and one of the best in its price category.

“not at all recommended”

the location is almost perfect
we had pre booked the place and were on an official trip
all the lights of the reception and entrance were off when we came by 11pm
there was smell of cigarettes
the hotel staff wasn't courteous
there were no bathroom slippers and enough accessories in the bathroom had to call for everything
they dont have any steam iron or provision for ironing the clothes
room service couldn't execute orders for 30minutes and were not even apologetic about it

overall was a ridiculous experience unlike the usual holiday inns

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

It was a family trip to India recently in Oct 2011. It was great to check in this hotel after a long journey of travelling from Agra to Jaipur. It was like an oasis in desert place! The staffs were very helpful. The room was very nicely decorated and good size for us (2 adults & 2 children). We had a good night rest and fresh the next morning for another day of activities. I must commend that it is a very good and value for money hotel. We enjoyed our breakfast in the hotel also. All the selections of food suitable was great for us (we are vegetarian). While I may not go back to Jaipur for many more years (I mean revisiting the same place in near future except maybe for business trip), I will not hesitate to stay in Holiday Inn Jaipur again. Great job!! Holiday Inn Jaipur!! Congratulations to all the staffs there!!

“If Jaipur is your destination, Holiday Inn is your hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Walking through the wide sparsley lit corridors, late at night with various decor and paintings of Mogul and Rajput emperors starting at me gave me a haunting yet wonderful experience.

It was the Monsoon season, the hotel was empty, except for a few tenants occupying this large "mansion". Hotel being empty was actually a plus for us, as we got to use its facilities and dining without any crowds. The reception staff were very friendly and professional, they greeted us and made sure our checkin process was super quick. I was however disappointed, being a GOLD priority club member, NOT offered a free room upgrade (especially since the hotel was 90% empty!)

The Room was spacious, finishing is good, with lavish use of marble and wood. The Toilet was constructed out of marble which gives it a luxury finish. I must say though some facilities within the room are in need of an upgrade, such as tap and shower heads which were in very poor condition (uneven water spray and pressure), also lack of toilet washer in an Indian city is a minus. Bed while comfortable, Keep in Mind that this hotel does not have KING beds, although advertised as such, the beds are actually twin beds joined together, couples might find this uncomfortable as the beds tend to slide away. I do hope Holiday Inn addresses this problem in the future.

Breakfast was Fantastic, i couldn't ask for more. Good varieties of western and indian breakfast, regular dishes such as omelet, eggs, beans, sausages, dosas, etc. We were satisfied and happy with this.

The hotel offers a "Travel Desk" located inside the building, this is however not owned or controlled by the hotel but operated by another TOUR operator. This Travel desk is Good, Mr Singh who sits there and also doubles as the driver was very helpful and friendly throughout all the trips we took via this desk, i highly recommend that you stick to Mr Singh as your driver. Do note that their prices are not the best, they are slightly overpriced but i wouldn't say its a "rip off" . Try your best to negotiate the prices as they can be stubborn with discounts and do not book via the hotel reception, instead book with the travel desk directly as to avoid extra charges.

As i mentioned earlier, service was good and friendly, room service did a good job cleaning up the room. Avoid in-room dining if you can, as the quality of in-room food wasn't very impressive and was overpriced.

Overall, i highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Jaipur, and i do hope Holiday Inn management improves upon their shortcoming that i mentioned in this review.
