Very lovely hotel, clean comfortable room. Had a garden view but a lake view would have been nicer. The only reason I didn't give this hotel a higher rating is that they charge for WiFi. A hotel of this caliber should include WiFi for the guests.

My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Trident in July 2011. It was off-peak season so we were able to get a fantastic rate for our 5 night stay (it was approximately $300 Australian Dollars total!). When you walk into the lobby it is beautifully decorated. The staff deliver excellent customer service and served a welcome drink upon arrival. Our only negative was the bathroom. In our room the bathroom was very outdated and small. One night the showerhead actually fell off the shower but luckily no injuries!
The pool was a welcome relief from the July heat, we spent lots of time in the pool. There are also activities at night and we watched the puppet show which was fantastic, very comical and the performers were very talented. There was no charge to watch the puppet show, we ended up buying some puppets as souvenirs. There is also an astrologer some nights. We did the astrology reading but did not realise there was a charge as there was no sign saying it would cost money so this was a little disappointing.
If you want the traditional Indian experience you can catch a tuk-tuk to visit the local sites. The tuk-tuks are out the front of the hotel. We did this many times however we did have a negative experience with one tuk-tuk driver trying to take us to his friends pottery store and he became angry when we refused. However you can also catch taxis for a cheap price!
Overall a fantastic hotel and would definitely stay at the Hotel Trident again.

Truly a 5 star hotel. Our room overlooked the garden and was beautifully decorated and hotel was very impressive All the amenities a 5 star should have. The staff was wonderful and the best part is a no tipping policy. Now there is a real change for India. You are allowed to leave a community tip at the end if you wish, but I had to ask if I could contribute as they never even suggested a tip at check out. Another great feature is that this hotel is very close to all the historical sights and must see things and that saves hours of driving time. If we were to return, it would be to this hotel.

Top class international hotel in a scenic location. On a buisy road and too difficult to walk in to town.
