“A perfect palace”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I had a 2 weeks tour in India and chose B&B everywhere for my stay. Among all the B&Bs, Friendly Villa has the best breakfast & room quality. Previous reviewers already wrote a lot about this, and you can also see it from my photos attached.
Here I just want to highlight 2 things:
1. Kul & Shveta are very hospitable & helpful, Kul spent 1 hour to help me find out a train and book the ticket by his own credit card and then print the ticket for me. I really really appreciate this, otherwise, I have to catch up a slow & unsafe bus.
2. This B&B is not in the old city, auto-rickshaw to old city costs rs. 100, to railway station about rs. 60. Among all the 3 rickshaw drivers I chose, only 1 knew where is "Veer Vihar", but fortunately all of them knew "Queens Road", so I had to let them go to "Queens Road" first, then find "Veer Vihar" by myself :) The benefit is, you get a very quiet environment, no need to worry about any noise at all!

A big thankyou to Shveta and Kul for their friendly and cosy hospitality whilst we were in Jaipur.
So nice to stay at a place where the host have a genuine interest in your travels and want you to have a pleasant experience whilst visiting their home city. Breakfast is absolutely awesome, especially when Shveta cooks up traditional Indian dishes for you try.
Easy to talk to, helpful when planning out your daily adventures and Shveta's Coffee taste so good and never go's cold.
Your on a good thing, thanks again.

We have grate memories of our stay in Jaipur Friendly Villa. Shveta and her husband are extremely kind, very helpful and warm. They were waiting for us and quickly picked up the phone when our driver was seeking for some help to find the house. Our room and the attached toilet were both huge, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is complete and abundant. Furthermore, it is served even when leaving very early. We had two dinners that were delicious and adapted to our preferences and health needs. We felt really at home. We definitively recommend it!

“Very friendly indeed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We arrived in the evening of the first day of our stay.
Shveta and her husband were there to greet us, and were extremely welcoming, especially after a long day's travelling.
The customary chai was produced, along with some fantastic homemade biscuits, before we discussed arrangements, eating times, filled out the appropriate forms etc.

The house itself is beautiful. Designed by the family, it feels extremely light, airy and everything is immaculately clean.

The bedroom was huge, with all the comforts you could expect - AC unit, fans etc.
The bath had water jets, to turn it into a hot tub, although the water tank wasn't quite big enough to fill it with hot water.

The highlight for us, was the wonderful way we were looked after. At our first breakfast, we were served an absolute feast that set us up brilliantly for the day ahead of sightseeing in the Pink City: Marsala omelette, toast, and Poha - a traditional flattened-rice dish from Mumbai. It was so delicious that we asked for the recipe. The next morning we got one better - Shveta showed us how it is made!

This was an example of how this homestay works - you get all you expect, and then a whole lot more! Even things like booking transport - not only did we get help doing this, but the tickets were paid for online, and we paid in cash. The little things really make a difference, and we left with very fond memories, as well as the lovely gift Shveta gave us.

Finally, it is worth saying that one of the lovely things about this homestay is that it is outside of the main city. If you have been doing a day of sightseeing in frenetic, vibrant and bustling Jaipur, it is really lovely to go back to the tranquil suburbs and relax at Jaipur Friendly Villa.

“Go blindly!”

Clearly our best homestay experience in India! Absolutely recommended! You can go there blindly. Shveta and Kul are formidable hosts on all accounts. Warmly welcoming, friendly, helpful and trustworthy, they will do everything to make your stay at their place and your experience of Jaipur most unforgettable.

The villa is well out of the city centre in a gated residential area so it is appropriate if you have a car and driver but still they will help guests arriving by train to get there and move around. It is a beautiful house, very calm, with absolutely clean and comfortable rooms and fully equipped and inviting bathrooms.

You just have to have one meal there. Dinner time is a moment we greatly appreciated with excellent food made to your liking (hot/not hot, and veg/non-veg). They are not vegetarians so don't hesitate to try meat dishes in safe conditions. They will eat later but they will sit with you all along dinner and you will have endless conversations.

Same at breakfast, which is also excellent, and by the way try the jam, and that is a good time to plan your day with tips and addresses, dos and don'ts. Ask for anything, they'll know and it will be trustworthy (driver, money changer, fixed price shops). That's when you lay aside your guidebook and take the live feed stop don't forget that they get feedbacks from their guests every day (and I guess that now they'll recommend that you go take a look at a Bollywood movie for the cliché and the atmosphere of the cinema hall itself at the Raj Mandir in Jaipur, even for only half an hour).

So if there is a place you want to make a longer stop, make it in Jaipur and make it at Jaipur friendly villa.
