The hotel is perfectly located in Colaba, just a short walk from Leopold's café and Gateway of India. The staff was very helpful, the rooms nice and beds comfortable. I had a very nice stay at the hotel.

I stayed at the Regent for 4 nights in January 2011. The hotel's best attribute is without doubt, its location. It is literally a stone-throw from the Taj and Gateway of India. The rooms are of a decent size and well proportioned. Although the furniture is a little dated, the rooms do have some nice features such as the quite grand ceilings. Rooms are equipped with flatscreen tv's with cable channels. The aircon was good. The bathroom was modest but was clean and more than sufficed. Service was also good. I found the staff to be very amiable and always responded promptly to my requests.
I've seen some reviews where people have complained about breakfast being in the corridor. While this is true, I didn't find it an issue at all. Food was good and service was efficient.

Overall, this hotel provides a convenient base and does enough to make you feel comfortable and looked after. It isn't cheap by any means, but given it's location you won't find much cheaper without compromising standards. The Ascot hotel which is a little more expensive is a better option for my money.

We stayed at Regent for 2 nights. Rooms are large and well kept. The best feature of the hotel was the bathroom: very clean and in good shape. Wi-fi is not available. However, we went to Ascot, which is a partner hotel, and managed to get wi-fi access with no charges. Reccomended. Incidentally, we have stayed at Ascot in the previous week. better rooms but higher prices.

I have been visiting this hotel for the passed 10 years but must say that the cleanliness and quality of rooms have gone down. Management especially Mr John and the reception were very welcoming as they have always been, but the room standards have deteriorated. breakfast in the corridor not impressive along with the quality of food and the tables were not clean just like the rooms,management must pay more attention to the room cleanliness and standards. the furnishing is now dated and beds uncomfortable. corridors, reception and front were clean.
