My family and I have been staying at the Lakeside Chalet Marriot Apartments for about 15-20ish days and are about to head back home in a few days. However, I just had to write a review before I forgot to.
The whole apartment building is located in the same area/property as Marriot's Renaissance Hotel which is for stays less than 15 days. However, in the hotel building is the pool, restaurants, gym, spa, shops, etc which are five star material. So that's where you go for all of your activities unless you would like to use another pool which is in the Apartment building. You also have breakfast in the apartment building. Taking all of the facilities aside, now moving on to the service and rooms. I have stayed in everything from traditional Inns in the USA during road trips to some of the world's best hotels including Ritz Carltons, Hyatts, Four Seasons, etc. However, the Lakeside Chalet Apartment's service is up to the par, if not better. Their service was so friendly and quick that it really made it feel like home. Everyday during breakfast, the gentlemen downstairs already had knew what my wife, daughter, and I wanted. You would see the manager and other Marriot people caring for the little kids as if they were their own by being attentive to them and even looking after them for 10 minutes with joy. Bravo.
Moving on to the rooms. I stayed in both the 2 bedroom(had guests) for a week or so and now I am in a 1 bedroom apartment. The two bedroom is quite spacious, about 1000sqft with 2 nice bedrooms(master+regular), two bathrooms, kitchen, living room, and a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. The 1 bedroom has a smaller living room, smaller kitchen, and a regular sized bedroom and bathroom. Both the rooms are the type of rooms of which you would expect from Marriot.
Lastly just to tip out a negative(only one) was the location. It is in Powai, meaning it is like a "suburban" and upcoming area of Mumbai. It is pretty much an hour to two hours to South Mumbai and about an 1 hour when commuting to northern cities like Santa Cruz, Bandra, and Juhu. My family and I had to really think about moving just because of the location because all of our work was in the Santa Cruz and South Mumbai area. We usually had stayed in the Hyatt apartments in our 6 other trips to Mumbai but this one is up to the par and i'd give it a shot if you want an ultra-friendly, quiet, relaxing, and quality place to stay.
