Food, conversation and a tranquil setting are three reasons to stay at Gitanjali. Traveling on my own, I appreciated that Yamuna joins her guests at the table and has much interesting to tell. The homestay atmosphere and small number of rooms means the other guests tend to be open. Being on the green edge of Mysore, you won't find alternatives in walking distance for dinner. You'd be foolish to pass up the Coorg cooking here anyway...there was an array of dishes on the table, all news to me and each better than the last. I enjoyed the bird life, poinsettias, generally lush surroundings and family pets as well. Yamuna was very helpful as well when Kingfisher cancelled my flight to Bangalore with little notice. For orientation, a single room in Nov 2011 was Rs 5500.
