“Wonderful winter stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2010

Our first visit to India had an excellent start and finish thanks to our wonderful stay with Sahil and his father. My wife and I enjoyed their generous hospitality, the fine Indian food they prepared for us and a comfortable bedroom in a very quiet part of Delhi.
The Pershad’s also introduced us to Sunil Namaskar to plan our tour through Rajasthan, to Agra and Kucharaho. From the start we were amazed by the complications and dangers of driving in India, so we very happy with Sunil. He is a very experienced and relaxed tour guide, and easy to communicate with. He made us feel very comfortable and contributed tremendously to an unforgettable holiday.

“A warm oasis in wintery delhi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2010

After a long flight from Canada we were so pleased to arrive at Shantigriha and find a warm oasis and wonderful hosts. Thank You to Sahil and Shakti to make our first few couple of days in India so easy and enjoyable. It set the tone for the rest of our indian adventure. The rooms were very comfortable and the gardens beautiful and the hosts fantastic. We will certainly stay at Shantigriha when we visit Delhi again.

“A Perfect Start”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 December 2009

For the traveller arriving in Delhi for business or pleasure for the first time there could be no better place to start than at Shantigriha. The standard of the rooms, the service and the food in the house is
just superb!

But the real winner for this establishment is the owner Sahil Pershad. Sahil will personally help you change money, get your local mobile SIM card arrange transport facilities, etc. with the minimum of fuss. This service is of inestimable value if the traveller does not speak Hindi.

“A must stay in Delhi for a taste of the real India”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2009

My husband and I stayed at the Shantigriha at the bookends of a two-week journey throughout Rajasthan. India can be difficult to navigate, even for experienced travelers, and I would highly recommend consulting Sahil and Shakti before planning your trip! Not only did they introduce us to a one-in-a-million driver, Sunil Sharma, who accompanied us throughout Rajasthan and found the most beautiful and hospitable havelis at the best prices, but they greeted us as old friends upon our return and served the best dal we had in India - from a treasured family recipe. All of the food we had at the Shantigriha was outstanding and seemed truly authentic - fresh-baked chapatis, mint chutneys and pickled onions, whole egg curries, chick peas with black spices, always cooked to order. Everything about the stay was thoroughly enjoyable - from the morning chats with Shakti over tea in the garden to conversations with him about the many antiques he's collected from around the world over the years, to waking up to the sound of the family's parakeets. Do not come to India without first calling Sahil and Shakti to help you plan your trip, especially if you want to glimpse the real India. Make sure, as well, to request Sunil as your driver!

“Vacation in India - 4 days in Delhi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2009

We spent four nights together with Sahil, his father and two dogs in the Shantigriha Bad&Breakfast. A good choice between price and quality. Only to find with an experienced taxi driver. But you can have it by Sahils recommandation by email in advance. The quality of the room and the bath room fullfilled our expectation - a good place to have a break after an exciting day of sight seeing. Indian breakfast was really good. Especially the talks about the most nice places in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra (Taj Mahal) were helpful when somebody has only a limited time.
Our recommandation without any limit.
