“Cool and elegant oasis in the heat of Delhi”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 May 2012 NEW

Out holiday trip to India started and finished with a night in the Taj Palace in Delhi. We were upgraded to a suite on the first night as the hotel was full, but even the standard rooms are excellent - large, well laid out, with very large comfy beds, Wi-Fi in the room, slippers, and a spacious and elegant bathroom. The hotel has several excellent restaurants, including an Orient Express dining car! The buffet breakfast has an amazing array of wonderful food, with Indian and Western choices. Staff all smile, greet you and are helpful and friendly. Location is outside the city, but with easy access to the airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a complimentary upgrade, always worth a try.

“Awesome Manazement”

Fantastic hotel. Myself visited with family to attend big funcshion. Myself cousin brudder's sisters's uncle was getting married to girl, and myself was invited. Free of charge. Lobby very nice, not like Hotel Vikrant near my village Barsoli. Since I stays in five star for first time, I asking manajer for good room. Very helpful manajer, he highgrade my room to one with attached bath. All lites working, but no fan in room. I call to lady on fone, who send teknisan. He say no fan only ac. I demanding fan, as window cannot be open, and myself only sleep with open window. I call lady on fone and politely asking for fan. Nice hotel, they send fan for free. But, all be careful. My highgrade room haves cool box with lots of drinks. Myself happy and give to bride as wedding gift. But hotel asking me for money. I asking to send bill to my cousin brudder's sisters's uncle. Rest all good.

Room Tip: Must asking for room with attached bath. And maybe fan.

“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2012

The Taj Palace, New Delhi is my new favourite hotel. I travel a lot for work as do many of my colleagues and we agree that this is one of the best hotels we've stayed at in the world. It has a beautiful but not gaudy lobby with extremely friendly and helpful (but not too fussy) staff and has a gorgeous pool and dining area. The rooms on the club floor are second to none, as is the club lounge for its quality of service from the attentive and chatty staff to the lovely view of New Delhi's green treetops. You are assured world class food by the Head Chef, Ganesh and believe me, you will not be let down. The location is great too for the airport and not too far from the business centres of New Delhi. Very close too to India Gate and the Secretariat area.

A really top notch hotel! You will be spoiled if you stay here. Be warned.

Room Tip: all rooms are great (I had seen a colleague's as well as mine) but try to book a club floor room...

“Overall good, but...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2012

I stayed here on the Club Floor for just over a week. This hotel overall is very good but it could do with an update. The carpets have seen better days, but the rest of my room was very comfortable and the housekeeping was up to standard. The Forest Essentials bathroom products are pleasant but don't use the conditioner. Unlike most FE products, this particular conditioner is rubbish. The staff is excellent overall, although surprisingly the least helpful was one of the butlers/desk concierge - whatever you call them -who sat at the desk where you come out of the lift on the Club level floor. I was annoyed to find out after I had signed-in for the use of the wi-fi that there were restrictions on devices. I have stayed at cheaper hotels where, once you take-up wi-fi, you can access it via any of your devices while in the hotel. At the Taj I had to lug my laptop wherever I went. Anyway, the woman on the desk said she would look into it on day 2. i asked again when I next saw her. Oh yes, she didn't have an answer yet. Despite the fact that I walked past her many times over the next 7 days, she never bothered to update me. Like I said, one blip on the landscape of service that was overall very good. Especially the butlers in the Club Lounge. They made our stay. Oh, and the man just outside the lifts in the lobby. A fabulous greeting every time. The hotel is located in the embassy area so the streets are unusually quiet. The hotel restaurants are also very good - particularly Masala Art.

“An interesting 5-star hotel located a bit out of the way the city, but with good access to the city center”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2012

An interesting 5-star hotel located a bit out of the way the city, but with good access to the city center. The standard hotel as a hotel of this class, very good facilities, such as flat screen TV. Unfortunately, the internet is here paid.
