The weather in Delhi in October is perfect. The monsoon season is over. The humidity is gone. The temperature is in the 90s. The sky is clear, until the fire crackers start! The holiday season ending in Diwali, the festival of lights, is fantastic. (We watched the fireworks as far as we could see, and at all points of the compass from our roof top deck.)

And my time at Chhoti Haveli was the best. It is a very comfortable B&B on the south side of Delhi. It is quick to get to the airport, the metro and central Delhi. Their rooms are quite clean, comfortable and quiet. Their Indian breakfasts are delicious and prepared each day you request it. Surinder is a great resource for Delhi. Whether your questions are about where you are going or how you are getting there. Everything you see on their website is a very accurate representation of the facility.

It was luck that I found Chhoti Haveli. It has been the hospitality and the welcoming environment that allow me to give it an excellent recommendation. The comments I have read on line about Surinder and Pawan really do give you a sense of the people they are: interesting, helpful, pleased to have you as their guest. Truly there is so much in Delhi and they seem to never be at a loss for resources a visitor needs. Even if it is a little bit of "back home." Thaapa is also a kind man who really does cook an excellent breakfast. The place is always clean. I have had the pleasure of an extended stay and have taken regular walks in the park just literally steps from the door. I also have a quite place for running early in the morning!

My husband and I had a brief overnight stay in Delhi recently and found the Chhoti Haveli to be the perfect stop. Though we were only there for a nights sleep and breakfast in the morning, we both kept commenting on how wonderful everything was. The room was clean and quaint. The in-room bathroom was also wonderful. And breakfast was delicious! It was a great transition into India for this American girl. :)

Tucked away in a quiet pocket of Delhi no more than 15-20 minutes from the airport is this jewel of peace and quiet. The owner was extrememly nice and spoke fluent English--we had some nice conversations-- having spent 13 years in the US (PhD UNC). Because of this she is aware of what "western" guests might be looking for in amenities. The room we had was totally clean with crisp white sheets and a marble bathroom (and AC).. We had a nice breakfast of our choice. Because our return flight was late at night but required early arrival at the airport, Surinder (owner) ordered in some food from a nearby and very good restaurant for our dinner. We spent only one night here after traveling 6 weeks in India (my adult daughter and I), and wish we had discovered this on our first arrival in Delhi. This was a nice transition homeward. Highly recommend.
