we (my husband and I) checked in rather late. The lady( her name i think it was Bonnie, not sure) at the desk was really nice, she checked us in quikly., made sure room location was fine with us, then told us about a free breakfast. The room was very clean, We slept well. there was no noise from the road or anything. In the morning we ate breakfast it was nice. Then check out was good to the manager even asked about our stay. you don't find people that really care much anymore. We will be back threw in january. Oh we only paid 56.44 with a triple A discount. You can't beat that!

“We won't be back.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

We were traveling through to go to my husband's grandmother's funeral. We had to leave TN unexpectedly and traveled as far as we could, which brought us to Clanton. We had stayed at Days Inn hotels in other cities, and while they weren't luxury hotels, they were clean and safe, so we thought for a quick stay this would be alright- we were badly mistaken. We checked in around 11:30, and if we had seen the room in better light, we probably would have left. It was dirty and dusty. There were no fitted sheets on the beds- just a flat sheet over the mattress, another flat sheet, and a bedspread. It smelled a little moldy, but we were too exhausted to care at that point. The next morning, we realized the ceiling in the shower area was so low that my husband, who is 6'5", could not get into the shower. This did not matter, though, because there were only 2 towels in the room but 3 of us, and the desk clerk actually refused to give us extra linen. The breakfast was more like a snack- there was one apple, a couple of muffins, and some corn flakes. We ended up not showering or eating- we just left to get to another hotel so we could take baths before the funeral. It was a terrible experience and we will never stay at another Days Inn- ever.

“Under New Management - But Ask to see Room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

In mid- August, 2011, a new manager began to correct problems at this motel. My husband and I had a bad experience related to the condition of rooms at this Days Inn earlier in August under old management which we reported on Trip Advisor and also to Wyndham and Day Inn authorities. The new manager called us today to apologize for what had happened before her "watch" and explained that she was hard at work correcting problems. Housekeeping staff had been fired and replaced and other steps are being taken to bring this motel up to Days Inn standards. This process probably will take a while, so if you visit during the rest of this year, ask to see the rooms before you register.

“July 30/31 Ask alot of questions before staying”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 July 2011

My wife and I checked into this motel late approximately 10:30 pm on a saturday night. We even paid an extra 10 dollars for a 3pm check out so we could enjoy the pool. Check-in went smoothly but when I went to find the room I realized we were never told where it was located but after walking around a bit we found it. Room was okay at first appearances. Went to get ice but had trouble finding it and when I did it was on the far side of the complex from our room and didn't work. Night clerk saw me walking around and told me the only working ice machine was inside around from the front desk where the doors are locked after hours. I get back to the room and find the remote to the tv doesn't work. My wife goes down to the front desk and finds out they need to program it for our use. make sure you bring extra pillows from home because we only got 3 small pillows for our king size bed. Rest of the night went okay and sunday morning we get up to head for the pool. Now this was the real deal breaker. We paid an extra 10 dollars for a late check-out so we could enjoy the pool. This was told to the manager and when we made our initial reservations. We go to the pool and while my wife was setting her stuff down I walked around the pool and commented to her shouldn't we be able to see the bottom of the pool. The water was murky and had something that looked like rust flakes not just on the surface but from top to bottom. I took a nearby skimmer and cleaned an area at the shallows but when my wife stepped in she said the bottom was slimey and nasty. We went directly from the pool to the from desk and demanded a full refund and found out the pool was closed for cleaning and repairs. The pool was unlocked with no signs saying anything about it being closed. While getting ready to leave we looked our room over more closely and found the towel rack in the bathroom was broken and pieces lying on the floor and both pins in the doorjamb in the bathroom door were about to come out and the ceiling near the room door was cracking. Please ask alot of questions. The plus sides were the air conditioning was real cold and there was a frig and microwave in the room.
