Set along a beautiful lake (but a lake seemingly inaccessible from the hotel) Deer Park is quite a pleasant place to stop. The rooms are mostly cottages and very well decorated (beds were particularly comfortable). Unfortunately the food was all buffet (there was a la carte but not a great selection). There was a two level pool that was a great relieft after a busy day but could use more care during the day to remove foliage and bugs (but was spotless each morning). Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Though we arrived late, enthusiastic welcome was received.
Good bar service. The green surroundings puts you in a relaxing mood.
The rooms were clean +tidy
Sri Lankan buffet was generally ok.

we got upgrated to some two floor room with a outdoor shower that was just dirty and full of bugs. don't do it.

Musty smelly room and bedding. My bed had clean linen, but ants and a spider, it had not been used in awhile. The pillow was so musty and full of lumps that I had to put it outside the door. The mosquitos ate us alive. I got no sleep that night. I told the front desk about pillow and insects and they were very professional yet did nothing. I had to call again in the afternoon to see when they would change the sheets and clean the room and If they know there are that many mosquitos, why not provide mosquito netting? The food was nice and service in the restaurant was great. However the chargers were ridiculously expensive, a soda cost $4 SGD in the hotel and 30 cents in the street. The pool was freezing cold and full of leaves. The grounds are deteriorated with a muddy water garden with stagnant water infested with mosqiutos at the front door. For $250 a night, I expected much, much more.
