“Unfortunately not one of the nicest places we stayed at”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2011

We stayed here for one night when we arrived in Kandy. The room we were given was in poor condition; dead mosquitos on the bed, windows that wouldnt shut properly and a huge gaping hole in the bathroom for anyone to look through and insects/mosquitos to come through.
There were these odd lime green tiles cemented to the roof and the decor was quite of out date. Could definitely do with a little revamping.

Too bad if the Guest feel that way. Probably the Guest might had bad experience with one of our staff members or something. Anyway we have rectified the issue. Recently we have done a lot of changes in the rooms and facilities.

“Decent place - value for money - will recommend.”

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and stayed 1 night. the caretaker (chanaka) made it worthwhile. We got their apartment (which is a 5mins walk from their guesthouse) for around 4600 srilankan rupees with breakfast included. Very spacious (2 king beds) with a kitchenette and living space (if he keeps it a bit dust free it would be even nicer). The bathroom was clean and and there was a swimming pool although we didn't use it. This place is on a hill top on a street full of such hotels. Hotel senani down the road also seemed like a decent place with a good restaurant. It's a long but nice walk down to the lake and tooth temple although u can get a rickshaw for slr 100-150 (depends on ur negotiation skills). It will get u there in 5-10 mins. The walk down hill is full of great views of the town below. A few places like the kitchenette and the main door has glass panels that should be covered better. In summary, if u r not too picky (this place is more like 2+ star) and looking for a reasonably clean place with lots of space compared to a regular hotel at a very decent price. Also, the room service can be delayed since it needs to be co-ordinated by the guesthouse staff but chanaka did a good job for us.

“A great little guest house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

We stayed for one night here and it was a really pleasant stay. Staff were great; friendly and helpful with where to go etc.

Rooms were basic but clean with clean towels and hot water.

Fantastic location with great views, you can walk down to kandy town or take a tuk tuk for really cheap-the hotel have their own tuk tuk which is handy!

I wouldnt necessarily stay for more than a few nights but it was a great stop over

“Pleasant place - very quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2009

We stayed in the apartment which is a few minutes walk from the Inn itself. The apartment itself was spacious with two double beds and a ping pong table. The fridge looked as if it hadn't seen any disinfectant for several months and the cupboard under the sink was scary. That aside the place was comfortable and our daughters enjoyed the pool which is attached to the apartment,. Breakfast is brought to the apartment at a time suited to you - bog standard european style with white bread, marg, jam, fruit and eggs. We had a lunch at the actual Inn which was excellent and highly recommended. We would walk down to the Inn in the evening and sit outside drinking beer which was pleasant. In fact we ordered a Pizza from Pizza Hut on a couple of occasions and they were much better than back home! The staff were friendly and very accommodating.

“truly awesome”

Our family stayed there in the guest house for the new year for about 5days..and really enjoyed this little yet lovely place…in short this was like home away from home…situated a bit away from the busy city.....really peaceful….just the right place to get away for a total relaxation….well would say the living room / dining area and the rooms were excellent especially when compared to the price….out of all, the two care takers from the guest house were really nice, friendly and helpful…we had a wonderful and memorable time…
The Owner dropped by to meet us as well, such a humble person….so nice of him to call us on our day of departure….even though he was away on some other schedule….
We spend something like USD25.00 for a triple room with Breakfast, they also have an in-house menu, we tried it out on our last night, the Dinner would say was excellent and we paid something like Sri Lankan 700 Rupees for 3 of us…they have a Tuktuk in the guest house, and both the care takers drive this, anytime you wish a drop to the city, they would take you and pick you back as well on request…though its nice to walk down to the city…they do charge for this at the end of your stay ….guess this as reasonable…as we paid something like 1500 Sri Lankan rupees which is like USD11.00 for all our trips t the city…like every day we used the tuktuk…
All in all we had an excellent trip....

  • Liked — juts the place itself very private and peacefull....
  • Disliked — low water preasure from showers in the toilet....
