“Cool place.”

My self and my wife booked the apartment for two days recently. We were really fascinated with the stuff they had in there. A table tennis table, a king sized bed, a swimming pool right in front were just a couple of them. since it was just the two of us it was quite calming and pretty private to say the least. they even drop you to town and collect you from town when you call them so theres somewhat a free transportation.
I went through some of the comments written and as a sri lankan am quite used to mosquitoes but frankly speaking this place was the least infested around the area. We talked to the host Dr Dantanarayana who seems to be a very pleasant and joyful man who knows quite a bit of history about the area. He even drew us a map to go and see the historical sites around. The staff too were quite friendly just like the owner.
Anyways the apartment we stayed at was well worth the price.

Room Tip: Get the apartment.

“Well off the city limit, will not go there again”

Booked this hotel looking at some of the reviews. This place is off the busy city streets where it gets quite dark at night. Not much to do in the evenings and this place is way too secluded in the hills. The swimming pool was muddy due to some landslide. The room was spacious but the toilets were not well vantilated. Due to monkeys in the visitiny it was not advisable to keep windows open during the day, likewise they had to be shut at night due to mosquitoes and other insects, hence gets stuffy. Kitchen items are most rusty and Fridge not been clean for ages.

Room Tip: Stay there only if you have a large group and not interested in any sightseeing

We are about 1.4 KM from the Kandy city center. We never advertised that we are in the city center. We provide free pick up from the city and drop the guest in town free of charge.

“Unfortunately not one of the nicest places we stayed at”

We stayed here for one night when we arrived in Kandy. The room we were given was in poor condition; dead mosquitos on the bed, windows that wouldnt shut properly and a huge gaping hole in the bathroom for anyone to look through and insects/mosquitos to come through.
There were these odd lime green tiles cemented to the roof and the decor was quite of out date. Could definitely do with a little revamping.

Too bad if the Guest feel that way. Probably the Guest might had bad experience with one of our staff members or something. Anyway we have rectified the issue. Recently we have done a lot of changes in the rooms and facilities.

“Decent place - value for money - will recommend.”

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) and stayed 1 night. the caretaker (chanaka) made it worthwhile. We got their apartment (which is a 5mins walk from their guesthouse) for around 4600 srilankan rupees with breakfast included. Very spacious (2 king beds) with a kitchenette and living space (if he keeps it a bit dust free it would be even nicer). The bathroom was clean and and there was a swimming pool although we didn't use it. This place is on a hill top on a street full of such hotels. Hotel senani down the road also seemed like a decent place with a good restaurant. It's a long but nice walk down to the lake and tooth temple although u can get a rickshaw for slr 100-150 (depends on ur negotiation skills). It will get u there in 5-10 mins. The walk down hill is full of great views of the town below. A few places like the kitchenette and the main door has glass panels that should be covered better. In summary, if u r not too picky (this place is more like 2+ star) and looking for a reasonably clean place with lots of space compared to a regular hotel at a very decent price. Also, the room service can be delayed since it needs to be co-ordinated by the guesthouse staff but chanaka did a good job for us.

“A great little guest house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

We stayed for one night here and it was a really pleasant stay. Staff were great; friendly and helpful with where to go etc.

Rooms were basic but clean with clean towels and hot water.

Fantastic location with great views, you can walk down to kandy town or take a tuk tuk for really cheap-the hotel have their own tuk tuk which is handy!

I wouldnt necessarily stay for more than a few nights but it was a great stop over
