We stayed at two of the bungalows: Tientsin and Castlereagh. Tientsin is very traditional and a little shabby chic; Castlereagh is more modern and recently refurbished. Food and service in both bungalows was exceptional and plentiful, without being over the top.
We preferred Tientsin, as it has far more character. Each room is very different – so check out the website before booking; and the location, high up in a tea plantation, provides peace and spectacular views. It also has much more space than Castlereagh, where rooms are noisy and samey; the views are limited to the reservoir below and the garden and swimming pool are much smaller.
