On our second trip to Blue Water we had arranged to stay at Glenross. However, as the hotel was renovating some rooms they asked us to volunteer to go. Our first trip was for three nights and then on a our third week we volunteered again for two nights.
Each time we were taken and brought back the drivers used a different route. Therefore we saw much of Sri Lanka which tourists do not see.
The drive up the side of the hill was a little daunting but well worth it. We were greeted by the staff and manager. The staff we had previously met at the hotel. It was like having your own personal house and staff - they could not do enough for you. The food (too much) was excellent. The chef after breakfast one morning carved a fruit into a flower. We were left in peace but excellent service. The rooms were exceptionally clean and flowers on the bed at night.
We sat by the pool watching the ladies emptying the cocunut cups into a metal bucket with the rubber sap. We sat and enjoyed the antics of the monkeys but were warned not to leave our items beside the pool unattended at the monkeys were thieves!
At the end of the day we would like to say that this was our hightlight of the holiday. Peace with the world - no internet - no mobile phones - genuine courtesy from the staff. We would certainly return. If you have the chance to go and want peace and quiet and just chill out please go.
