Nice hotel with friendly staff ( maybe a little bit to friendly, sometimes we had a lack of privacy!)

Think blue skies, sunshine, shady gardens, peace and tranquility, a perfect pool to cool off in, and you would sum up the Asian Jewel experience. Add to this wonderful food, attentive but discreet service from the staff and the most beautifully appointed bedroom and you have all you need for a perfect holiday. Dale and Tanya ensure that you make the most of your visit to Sri Lanka with their wealth of local knowledge and advice and nothing is too much trouble for them. Without doubt they deserve all the accolades they have achieved.

Our stay at the Asian Jewel was nothing short of perfection! Dale and Tanya were lovely, attentive, and welcoming hosts throughout our entire stay, making us feel very at home. Our travel agency made a slight error in our booking placing both my 22 year old daughter and me in the honeymoon suite. As soon as we arrived Dale immediately offered to switch our room to another with two beds, but in the end we just couldn't give up such a beautiful room with it's stunning river view and private balcony. All of the staff were so helpful, kind, and thoughtful throughout our stay. The waiters remembered us each day and the gardener even offered my daughter some freshly cut aloe vera plant from the garden for her sunburn. The food was exceptional - lots of variety on the menu, very well presented, and everything we tried tasted delicious. We were a bit unsure about being away from the beach, but the pool was lovely and it was only a short distance by tuk tuk to the beach area so it wasvery easy to reach without the noise of the more populated area. We stayed over the Christmas holiday and with the lovely Christmas dinner they prepared it felt just like being at home! We would highly recommend the Asian Jewel!

From the moment we walked out of the airport Dale and Tanya ensured every moment of our trip was exciting, value for money, relaxing and pleasurable. Having emailed from the UK, Dale ensured we were met at the airport and experienced a safe transfer for the 3 hour journey to the hotel. Whilst there they proved to be a fountain of knowledge organizing any trips we wanted and suggesting the local places to go. We travelled as a group of 8, including three children aged 7,10 and 10: Tanya in particular went the extra mile to ensure all the children's needs - including child friendly food were met. Happy children meaning happy adults ! The food in the restaurant was superb and in the end we only ate outside the hotel, 2 nights out
of 9 as it was just so yummy and at a great price. On top of this none of the 8 of us had any tummy problems - something everyone had warned me about when booking Sri Lanka.

We stayed New Years eve and for anyone who gets the chance Dale's Elvis impression has to be seen. Having seen a number of tributes during my travels including Las Vegas- I have to say Dale could def get a second job impersonating- he was excellent.

Anyway, don't just take my word for it, but if you are looking for accommodation in south west Sri Lanka I would suggest you give them a call and make up your own mind. I am sure you won't be disappointed as between Dale, Tanya and their team they ensure that every individuals needs are attentively met . I would not hesitate to go there again if I get the opportunity and the Asian Jewel would def be my hotel of choice.
