“Simple room and modern hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The reception, bar and restaurant area for this hotel is modern. However the rooms are not as modern, but are clean and comfortable.
The location is great for walking around Aguas Calientes and getting to the bus to go up to Macchu Picchu.
We ended up eating lunch and dinner at the hotel, and the food was tasty and well priced. Breakfast is fine, enough choice.
Free internet is available in the reception area.

“Enjoyed the restaurant”

We ate dinner here during our stay in Aguas Calientes and thought the food was fantastic, pisco sours were excellent and waitstaff very friendly.

Before our trip, I emailed the hotel to see if they had any availability and never heard back. I didn't pursue it any further and we ended up staying elsewhere, so I cannot comment on the hotel.

“Clean, comfortable, worth the price”

Stayed toward end of September 2011. We found the hotel to be more than adequate--nicely kept, clean, modern, and eco-friendly (tickled by the clever use of the shower curtain to encourage water conservation!). The beds were comfortable with cushy comforters. Located near plenty of restaurants and local markets all within walking distance. Found the on-site restaurant and bar (and the meals/drinks included in the price of the room) to be good quality and satisfying; wait staff were polite and punctual. The walk up the stairs to the hotel can be daunting after climbing around Machu Picchu all day, but that seems to be part of the charm of this little gem. Staff was very accommodating with regard to holding and transporting luggage at our request. El Mapi was probably my favorite hotel of the entire trip.

“Enjoyed our stay here - despite having a screaming baby across the hall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Terrific service -easy check in. Kept our bags in storage. Rooms are plain but very comfortable. Good showers/bathroom - clean, hot water, everything worked. Beds are fine. Dinner was really good - food well prepared and tasty. I was sick (Montezuma's Revenge) and they found me some soup from a nearby restaurant that was really good and hit the spot. Brought it to the room.
There was a family across the hall who had a sick baby who cried for about 7 hours straight. The hotel helped them find a doctor and get the baby some help. (I never did find out what the problem was.)
Good internet and free PCs just off the lobby.
Surprisingly good place for such a touristy town!

“Lovely Hotel friendly and helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

This hotel was booked by my tour company, it is idealy located very close to the train and bus station.
Representatives from the hotel met me and collected luggage which was duly transported through the market across the bridge and into the hotel.
Check in can be a bit slow however this is fairly normal in Peru as passports are collected and photocopied.
The bedrooms are lovely and modern. A bathrobe was provided for use in the hotel hot tubs.
The hotel is set amongst beautiful botanical gardens.
Hot water avaliable for showers with good pressure which is rare in most hotels in addition to shower gel which was a welcome change to bars of soap normally provided.
There was welcome drinks in the evening in the bar provided with local maize snack.
Dinner was included in my package whilst the meal was tasty the choice was limited however there is a normal menu with more choice.
However there are numerous options right opposite the hotel for food if nothing appeals.
The water provided was potable so was okay to drink and did not cause sickness.
The breakfast was nice with a wide variety of fruit, pastries including eggs etc..
Although slightly earlier check out than most hotels this was not a problem as the hotel not only store your luggage they tag and transport it to the train station ready for your departure.
This was so valuable as i was able to enjoy the day out in Machu Picchu with no worries and i turned up at the station for departure and baggage was there with hotel representative.
There was free Wifi although can be difficult to connect to.
The staff were very friendly and very helpful.
