Didn't plan on staying in Moyogalpa. Original plans were to stay out at Playa Santo Domingo, however after running into distant relatives who live near town, staying in Moyogalpa seemed to be the 'better' choice. Good points; the AC worked pretty well, and the bedding was crisp and clean. The food at the restaurant was a bargain. The help were friendly though not so helpful in terms of setting up guides and so on. Being in town meant being close to Concepcion, so getting up the volcano was convenient. Good selection of restaurants in town, as well as several internet spots, and as far as I know the only ATM on the island. Not so good points; no hot water, well you get used to this traveling about the country....but still it would have been nice, a mirror in the bathroom would have been nice, an attempt to provide something/anything so I could shave in the mornings would have been a plus. Back to the bath, just not clean, not up to expectations. No TV, and after three days had to request a room clean (I dunno I sort expected them come in and at least dump the trash). Broken window, ya know like forget about security...and handing off my valuables at the front desk was better than nothing, but I had no idea nor warm fuzzy feeling that my valuables were truly secure.
