We booked this room months before through Orbitz and prepaid for it (it was a requirement for the reservation).
The room was poorly maintained. The first room allocated had no door locks on the doors leading to the balcony. They then gave us a new room where the heat worked poorly and the phone did not work and could not be fixed. The door connecting the bedroom to the living room did not close, so we could not get the room to warm up.
The TV reception was terrible – only one channel gave a clear picture. The manager on duty Mohamed Ousalissine agreed these were problems and promised to refund us some money if we talked to the manger the next day when we were checking out. However when we checked out, the manager he had asked us to talk to about this, Rhout Aicha was not there. The woman on duty instead was very rude to us. We had a prepaid voucher from Orbitz clearly showing that we had already paid for the room. Rather than refunding us any money, she instead insisted we had not paid and would not let us leave. It took about half an hour of explaining and talking to some 'commercial director' who was also present to finally convince them that we had paid. Even then they charged us a whopping 140 dirhams for 4 beers we had in the room. The room price of $306 for two nights we had already paid was over inflated already.
This left us with a very bad taste and we would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Everywhere else we went on our trip we found the people to be warm, friendly and helpful.
