I spent two nights in the auberge with my wife and our 10 months old son. We chose La Terrasse des Delices because of the very positive feedback we read on Tripadvisor.
How to get there by car
We rented a car in Marrakech and drove to Ouarzazate ourselves. In Marrakech we were told that Oasis de Fint, where the auberge is actually located, is a bit hard to find. Confirmed! Arriving at Ouarzazate you reach a roundabout just before entering the city, in front of the entrance of the film studios. Leave the roundabout at the first exit. The road gets smaller and seems to turn into a dirt road, but after a while it widens into a seemingly newly asphalted road. After 8.6 km there's a small asphalt road on your right and a very small, white roadsign indicating 'Oasis de Fint'. Take the road, which leads through a newly built urban development. At the first T-junction you either turn left or right, since the road has an ellipse-form, and follow the road, leaving Ouarzazate behind you. After roughly 1km you reach a crossroad at 'the end' of the ellipse. Take this road until you reach a roundabout at the end. Leave the roundabout at the first exit. This is a dirt road roughly in line with the asphalt road. Follow the dirt road for 5.3 km and keep left at the crossroad. A roadsign indicates you're heading for Auberge La Terrasse des Delices.
Finally you reach a village, where you first have to cross the river by bridge and later on you just ride through it to get to the other side... Luckily the water level was low, so we managed to reach the other side in our Renault Megane, but if water levels are higher you have to cross the river by donkeys.
Service and hospitality
The staff is very hospitable and our little boy was spoiled with attention. A baby cot was arranged free of cost, and when needed they warmed up his milk or prepared a baby meal for our son. Great!
Comfort and atmosphere
The auberge is cozy, but basic. Rooms are quite small with simple beds and an outdated bathroom, but there was hot water (boiler) and an airconditioning!
Food was good en plenty, but again: basic.
Like many places in Morocco, some children and adults were also here begging for sweets, soap, pencils or money. And don't be surprised if they try to change Euro coins for dirhams. Maybe they were real, I didn't do it.
Overall the auberge is very relaxing, with a splendid view over the valley and the mountains. The area is good for walking, but apart from that there's not much to do.
Food and rooms are basic and with 50 euros per night (2 persons) well payed for, but the staff is very nice.
