we didn't stay here so i cant comment on the overnight experience in the hotel itself. However, we did stumble upon them early in the day and went to the desert over night with them. It is a local, family run operation. we got to Merzouga really early so we had nothing to do. this was the perfect place as it included in the price of the overnight Camel and Camping trip in the desert, full access to their pool all day and you get a free room where you can shower before and after your Camel/ overnight desert stay. We ate a fabulous lunch there. Swam in their wonderful pool. Showered in the room which was very clean and nice. Then we left at 4pm (it was summer time after all), led by Mustafa, a young berber boy, by foot. we rode the camels and he walked us about 2 hours into the desert. their campsite is set up above, away from the rest (the other campsites are all located in a crowded oasis, which is much noisier than where we were at). Mustafa spoke a little English, and pretty good French. He's not very talkative which is fine because the desert is about soaking in the environment more than anything. at night he dragged me up a giant sand mound to look out over the desert. at that point he was super chatty and fun. the dinner was great. we slept outside as the tents were too hot. the next day we rode back and hung out at the hotel. Breakfast was included as part of the package. We paid 400 Dirham for the whole package and that's a lot less than we were quoted elsewhere. it was a great experience. i highly recommend it, especially if you are on a budget.
