Overall apart from no hot shower, this is a perfect place for those who wants to empty their 'rubbish bin' accumulated in the city life n rebuild themselves. Everything is so out of my expectation. Thanks for all the helpful staffs. Just simply love every little thing here. They are just so right. there is one more important thing needs to be mentioned about is - the food is so fine n tasty. Looking for the next visit!

Petani Beach is my perfect paradise. When I dream of getting away this where I dream of. Best part about it is, it's not a dream it's real!
I first visited Petani Beach in March 2006. I was staying on the big island in a big noisy resort and hated it. I was ready to leave the Perhentians when someone recommended I check out Petani before I left. I reluctantly went to check it out and as the boat neared Petani, my jaw dropped! Before my eyes was the most beautiful beach you could possible imagine with only a couple of people to be seen. My idea of paradise. I was greeted by Debbie the owner who gave me a huge smile and the warmest welcome I could have asked for. I immediately went back to the big island to get my stuff and returned to stay for the rest of my 3 week holiday.
With only 5 bungalows on a secluded beach I often had the beach to myself. The bungalow was spotless and had everything that I needed from mosquito coils to a very comfy bed. With hammocks dotted around the place and sun loungers I had lots of options for where I wanted to relax.
I enjoyed my stay so much, so that I returned 4 months later for another 2 weeks. I have since been back every year since. I have travelled extensively throughout SE Asia and I cannot find anywhere that comes close to matching Petani Beach. Its not only the place, but the people too. Debbie and her husband Hash have made me feel part of the family right from the first day that I arrived at Petani. Nothing is ever too much trouble and all of the staff are incredible friendly and helpful. Its a real family atmosphere (because they are a family!)
Over the years whenever I have been on the island, I have hopped about and done some diving and tried various restaurants. I have not found any food that comes close to the food at Petani. Every time I eat away from petani I'm gutted that I've wasted a meal that I could have enjoyed at Petani! I'm a vegetarian and the staff have always been very accomodating if I wanted something that wasn't on the menu. Hash is a world class chef (who has cooked for Madonna!) and trains his kitchen staff to a very high degree. The kitchen is always spotless and Debbie and Hash both have very high standards.
If you have the chance to stay at Petani go before its too late. The owners are finishing up in September so go while you have the chance. I'm gutted!

What a place to stay...we have had the most memorable & truly relaxing holiday & can only thank all the staff for this. The resort is peaceful, beautiful & there's great food available...plus ice-cold drinks. If you want to really enjoy the Perhentians then this is the place to be...none of the noisy mess you get on the backpacker beaches (i.e long beach & coral bay). The staff can arrange water taxi's for you or you can simply go for a forest walk to the other beaches or the fishing village - its all just so easy! We will be back again as soon as we can. This was our 2nd visit to Petani, we stayed 15 nights this time and still weren't ready to leave! We managed to drag oursleves off the beach to take a walk to Coral Bay and beyond there's nothing there to match it! certainly not as secluded as Petani, and Coral Bay is not for us at all. We had lunch in one of the beach cafes there and it was rubbish up to Zul's tasty salads.At Petani the food and everything are great, wouldn't change a thing, love the evening meal idea, we've had great bbq's and seafood buffets, Zul's cooking is the best. and Mark does a mean curry too. lovely clean simple chalets.. We're gonna be very sad that they probably won't be there next year, Debbie is a fantastic lady and we hope to catch up with them in their next venture!
