I had the 4 days 3 nights package with 2 free diners and 3 breakfasts which is a great deal. You also get a free discovery dive or golf lesson.

We took the Deluxe Room with sea view which you have to request specifically so remember that during your booking.

The diving center is a 5 minutes walk from the reception and they offer descent dive package which can be charged to the room.

Overall a pleasant stay for a family oriented resort. Don't forget that Tioman is not very convinient to travel around on so be prepared to be on the resort most of the time.

Its been just a few months that I visited Berjaya at Tioman for couple of days. Although the infrastructure and facilities are good, the staff sometimes may not be that caring or responsible. Just to narrate my story, on the day while returning back, I did check out and waited at reception for almost 1 hr for their staff to drop me at the ferry terminal. Would like to mention here you will be dependent on hotel cab to drop you at the ferry as no other travel arrangement are available on this tiny island. I went there with my family ( including a kid) and to my surprise none of their staff was willing to drop us at the ferry. Finally, after making lot of requests, one guy dropped us at ferry just 5 mins before the ferry departure time. I was on a tourist visa to Malaysia and If i had missed that ferry by any chance ( only 1 ferry a day to this island) I was in deep trouble on various fronts. Although the stay was good, but end was very bitter.

Was looking for a nice getaway during the holidays...

Getting there was by berjaya air - pretty rough ride considering its the rainy season. The plane has to virtually make a 90 degrees angle right turn as it lands on the runway, can be quite a scary experience if you're not used to small planes.

Location: It's quiet, excellent place for a getaway. Fresh air. You may want to avoid the rainy season as there is nothing much to do here except go out. So, if it rains, you can be pretty much stuck in your room. The resort is self sufficient, all your need is $$$.

Accommodation: Very dated. This is my biggest complaint! I would assume this place was very nice in the early 90's. I stayed in a deluxe room, near the restaurant area. Furniture is very old, some even broken. I had to call the maintenance guy to fix the lights and air conditioning a few times. This place certainly needs a makeover. Free Wifi available in lobby and restaurant areas. There is a safe in the room.

Facilities: Swimming pool, private beach area, restaurant, bar, sauna (you need to go to the golf area - at this sauna is really ancient! There is a special counter at the lobby to inform you of all the activities within the area (which includes snorkeling and diving).

Restaurant food: Fair. They have varieties for local and western cuisine.

Sea is not as crystal clear as always stated in the brochures.

The marine conversation park has a better range of fishes if you're keen for snorkeling. Bring bread along...

If you're looking for a place with nothing much to do but see the sea and sand, this resort has ti all!

The perfect place to just relaxe, the spa is PERFEKT and the beach is beautyfull. The cabins are not that interesting, but they are okay.

There is not much to see outside the resort, so realxation is a key-word here.
