This is a mass Market safari lodge which accommodates hordes of tourists. Not my cup of tea. Don't expect luxury here.

we went there as a large group during the christmas weekend, upon arrival we had to carry our own bags to our rooms as there were no porters presesnt at the time. although we had pre- requested for the 1st and 2nd floor rooms we were given ground floor rooms.
the rooms were above average but the reality only begins when the sun goes down... an army of bed bugs awaits for you to get into the sheets so that they can bite you. and outside your room doors there are so many huge beetles that are the size of your fist just flying aimlessly.
at dinner we would have to eat the same stale recycled food that we were served during lunch which would have insects crawling all over the food as it was always open.
the levels of service were so poor as though the people were forced to work there. they happily ignored our requests and showed us attitude. the only thing good was the view and the location of the lodge.
if you want to pay to get bitten by all sorts of bugs, shady service and recycled food enjoy your stay at voi wildlife lodge

This was my second stay at Voi Safari Lodge and it hasn't got any better. I got chronic food poisoning last time which totally ruined my safari the following three days. Complained that the food was poorly kept with salads and sweets left uncovered with flys and other insects crawling over them. That was in 2009 and it still hasn't changed!!! Unlike the rest of Kenya the staff were unhelpful and appeared not to want to be there. Room was large but basic and the shower did not work. It's outside Tsavo East park so the waterhole does not attract much wildlife. I really do not understand why safari companies continue to put their guests in this uninspiring dump. If you must stay there don't expect a lot and be very careful what you eat.

Lodge clean and tidy. Food great . Had massive rain pour so animals didn't come to watering hole but treat very well and would recommend . Saw hippo . Lions. Elephant. Giraffe .zebra.great safari with Kenya wildlife safari
