“Beautiful, comfortable, convenient, friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Pros:

- We stayed in room 301 which is Chinese-themed and it was really beautiful, and very original (not tacky).

- The staff at the front desk are extremely helpful and friendly and helped with a few minor issues we had.

- You can rent bikes cheaply and explore the historical sites that way - we did this and it was a brilliant experience. The hotel is very close to the sites so you can linger until the sun sets (beautiful colours), and the ride is very very pleasant.

- We tried the restaurant down the road but quickly fled it in favour of the hotel one, which is much much nicer (the other options, on the road to the historical park, were not very appealing either). They also have plenty of coffee-table books and magazines for you to browse while waiting for your food.

- Breakfast was nice - especially since it had several Thai options which we didn't find anywhere else.

Only con:

- The food menu has virtually no vegetarian options, and the staff are not particularly helpful in that respect (for example, they didn't want to try making some of the curries with no meat, whereas almost all other restaurants in Thailand offered that spontaneously)

Room Tip: We had a Chinese-themed room and were very happy with it, but there are plenty of others including J...

“Peaceful and convenient”

We spent 2 nights at this lovely property, which is carefully decorated, professionnally managed and conveniently located only a few minutes away (walking) from the historical park.
The staff were extremely attentive and helpful (though maybe a bit slow at times, like when it took them over 45 minutes to bring us a birthday cake...), breakfast is a bit limited in choice but tasty, rates were really good and though the hotel was almost full, we almost never ran into any other guests (neither at the pool nor at the restaurant).
Our room (the chinese room) was very comfortable and quiet. While we were there, a group of univesity students came for a site visit and (though they did not disturb at all), the manager took us as well on a tour of the hotel to excuse himself of the nuisance - the two bedroom suite is beautiful and perfect for a larger family!
The neighboring night market stalls offer delicious food and the old Sukhothai village has all one may need when there (a pharmacy, some souvenirs and a 7/11) - restaurants and bars are in New Sukhothai (15 km away), which is by far less impressive...

Room Tip: The theme rooms are really nice - but the suites are perfect for families or groups of friends (bedr...

“Great base for exploring Historical Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

This is a quiet, Lanna-style hotel. It is small but well designed. The rooms are nicely decorated - bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper, the croaking frogs in the lotus pond might keep you awake otherwise!

If you're going to visit the Historical Park, this is a great place to stay. We rented bikes at the hotel and cycled to the park each day - you can also rent bikes at the entrance of the park, it's probably a 15 minute walk from the hotel (the bikes all looked to be in the same condition).

The food in the restaurant was very tasty and the fruit shakes were great. All the staff were friendly and very helpful.

We found the hotel and its restaurant to be great value. We gave 4 stars because the house-keeping of the rooms could be improved.

“Nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

Nice little resort hotel. Quiet. We enjoyed our short stay. Close to the Historical Park. We enjoyed the pool but there are not enough loungers. Breakfast: fresh juice, tea or coffee, cereals, milk and yoghurt, jam, butter, slices of white bread and water melon. Not very exciting. Room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Aircon a bit noisy. Old fashioned TV with few channels. Free wifi, nice!
We did not eat in the hotel as the restaurant was brightly lit, not very cozy.

“Perfect Boutique Hotel !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

We had the most pleasant stay in Sukhothai thanks to the Tharaburi Resort.

The best thing about this resort is how close it is to the Sukhothai Historical Park where you will see the most impressive Buddhas and ruins.

The staff is nice and willing to help you have the best stay.

It is a small hotel with really nice rooms.

We had a Deluxe room, they are each appointed with a different decor, had the japanese one. All rooms have an open roof bathroom with mini garden, small fridge, TV and DVD player and fully working AC.
In the room everyday you have fresh fruits, water, juice and snacks provided free of charge with our room.

The restaurant serves really nice Thai food for lunch and dinner.

They have bikes to rent 50THB for 1 day. Please check the tyres before as they are sometimes flat.

Only regret is that breakfast is always the same everyday... gets a little boring after a while...
