The Tim GH is NOT located in the city of Nongkhai, but in the Province of Nongkhai. The Tim GH is located in the small town of Sri Chiang Mai, a pleasant 2 hour ride by non-aircon local bus from the downtown Nongkhai bus station. Or, when coming from Bangkok, by direct overnight bus from the Northern (Morchit) bus terminal, approx 12 hrs. There are three bus companies serving Sri Chiang Mai/Bangkok and return directly, with fully aircon overnight service.

From the bus stop in Sri Chiang Mai less than 5 min. walk to guest house, no need for tuk tuk. Walk west from bus stop for a short distance, turn right onto Soi 17, turn left at the end of Soi 17 (Mekhong River), walk another 2 minutes.

Ideal, very quiet location right on the banks of the Mekhong River, with downtown Vientiane (Laos) right across the way. Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable, communal bathroom & shower. Good food served in restaurant. On the wide pedestrian boulevard along the river road right outside (virtually no traffic) great outdoors restaurants set up shop every evening. Enjoy real Isaan food and fresh (farmed) Mekhong fish.

Atmosphere friendly and relaxed, ideal place for a few days of doing nothing, reading and chatting and enjoying quiet nights. Internet access.
