very dirty (we were sharing the room with rat, every morning it was fresh excrements on the carpet). food not good at all, staff not nice. The list is long.
The beach is beautiful and that's it

I had read awful reviews about this hotel (and had already booked!) so was not looking forward to staying here. We walked around the island & checked out the other accom and Phi Phi Cabana is definitely the pick. Location is fantastic - very close to shops and party central (but not in the thick of it). The pool is amazing (although the staff are a bit reluctant to come out to the pool and ask you if you want a drink!) room views are breath-taking and beautiful beach within metres of pool.

The rooms were great, clean & no problems with room service. Me & my boyfriend both agree that when we come back to Phi Phi we'll be staying here again.

I stayed her for 4 nights in January and would not recommend. I got Bedbugs and the staff didn't seem surprised when I told them.
The hotel is run down and very tired - it's in need of an upgrade. There is no way this is a 4 Star hotel. I would say 2+!!
The only good point is the location which is right next to the pier and on the beach, however the Island is so small, everything is within 5 minutes walking distance anyway!
I would recommend the Banyan Village or Mama Beach. If you wanted luxury I'd recommend the Zeavola which is on a quieter part of the Island.

I'll let you know the good points first as it won't take long. The size of the room was generous and the view was spectacular.
The downsides though. The electronic lock on the door was broken when we arrived, though they fixed it within a couple of hours.... fast enough to not be too annoying. The bed had been designed for use in the flintstones, THE hardest bed I've ever slept (badly) on. The shower was good but only as a poor substitute for the absence of a bathtub. At the second time of asking the cleaning staff did pick up most of the broken ashtray from the balcony but still left several sharp shards for me to collect before baby lacerated herself. The swimming pool was a deep swamp green colour for the entire 4 days, a few people were swimming in it but we weren't brave enough to let our 1 year old in. The breakfast was a mixed buffet of western and asian offerings though the wesern parts were as often found in asia.... just wrong. Frankfurter sausages and overcooked streaky bacon alongside something that appeared to be a croissant and fried rice and noodles
All in all, this hotel has the potential to be one of the most amazing places to stay.... it just doesn't get it right and at 120 pounds a night... it really should
We'll stay elsewhere next time
