“Paradise Island”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The resort is located in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
With all the amenities you can ask for. Multiples Restaurants with good quality, but if you want safe some money, you can take your meal's in the restaurant's located just behind the resort (in one of them you can use the free wi-fi internet).
Great pool just side by side with the beach.
I recomend using the transfer service from Phuket or Krabi to the hotel, especially in the monsoon season, while the sea can be tricky by these time of year.

“Beautiful hotel in Phi Phi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

This is a beautiful hotel in wonderful surroundings outside the hustle and bustle of Tonsai village. The rooms are quite nice along with the pool area and beach. If you are looking to sit by the pool or beach for a few days and have no worries on the amount of money you spent on drinks or food this location would suit you well and there would be no reason to leave the resort. We found the staff friendly, but not as happy as other resorts we have stayed in.
As other reviewers have mentioned there is a Thai village behind the resort that will provide you with cheaper dining options. We never ate at the hotel except breakfast. Our home for 5 days was the Knock Out Bar and Red Tuna where we had amazing Thai food and great service. Try a massage at the place by the bridge next door to Red Tuna....amazing!
We arranged our island tours thru the Knock Out Bar as it was much cheaper than the resort and just the two of us.
If you are energetic and love to explore there are two paths to Tonsai Village, one takes about 45 mins and is quite steep, the other about 2 hrs. Just ask one of the friendly Thai folk in the village and they will point you in the right direction. You can also walk along a path that follows the coast to the Holiday Inn where you can enjoy the Jasmine restaurant, its about a 45 min walk to an hr, or ask for a ride on a motorcycle sidecar from anyone in the village.
In conclusion I don't want to be mean to this hotel as it is very nice and Phi Phi is stunning. However, we only slept there.....sat by the pool for 2 hrs one afternoon.....so for the price we paid it was a waste of funds for us. This is not an adults only resort, so take this into consideration if you don't enjoy having kids around you on vacation.
It was a great learning experience for us......we enjoyed the company of the folks in the local village and would have been happy with one of the 70 dollar a night bungalows you can rent.
If its luxury and relaxing by the pool with no budget.....this is for you.

“5 Star prison”

Considering this is Thailand, this resort was very way over-priced!!!

Accommodation and the resort itself was quite nice, but the staff would barely do the minimum. Every time I asked for something such as tomato sauce for my chips I got the rolling eyes.

As soon as we left the resort and walked through the staff village out the back, we ended up in knee deep rubbish and smelly sewerage. And that just reflected the whole don't-care attitude we experienced.

Location is good but the beach out the front is unusable and everything worth seeing is an expensive boat ride away.

If you're looking to do Thailand on the cheap, this aint it. If you're looking for a 5 star resort, this aint it either.

Room Tip: Deluxe Bungalows or somewhere else

“Birthday Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We had such a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The surroundings were just as beautiful as the pictures online. It truly took my breath away. Arriving to the island from Phuket was almost dream-like! It looked photoshopped! It wasn't cheap - especially considering we had been traveling around Thailand with friends on a relatively tight budget up until that point but, in my opinion, it was worth it. My partner and I were really ready for some couples time and a bit of luxury so our short stay here was perfect! We splurged as it was my birthday, and it will be a birthday I remember fondly for some time.

“Awesome pool, great food, lovely grounds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

The infinity pool was my favorite part of this resort- it's really big, spotless, and overlooking the beach/ocean. The grounds are well-kept with lots of trees, flowers, etc and big pots of water/floating flowers. The spa is fabulous! I see a lot of people complaining about the price of the food- yes, it's expensive, but it's also delicious. And they even brought me my own birthday cake without our requesting it! If you want to give your wallet a break, go out back behind the resort (3 minute walk) and there is a strip of local places you can try. Our favorite was Knock-Out Bar- really friendly owner, laid-back and cute atmosphere, and good drinks! The free breakfast buffet is amazing- all kinds of fresh juices and fruits and a large variety of main courses. If you're feeling adventurous and want some exercise, it is possible to walk to the other side of the island (Tonsai Bay) without having to pay for the water taxi. It took us about an hour and for a while it wasn't really scenic (poorly marked trails in the woods and lots of trash), but at one point it does get to the famous lookout spot of the bay and then from there it's fine. One minor complaint would be the lack of free wi-fi. At first I thought maybe it was just because we were on a remote island, but a lot of restaurants and other hotels seemed to offer free wi-fi to customers so I'm not sure why this place can't have it. Overall though, it's really wonderful and great for a couple's getaway.
