This is a very special way to experience Maya Bay. I love that you are able to experience the beach after all the tourists leave (and then again in the morning before they arrive!). You start the afternoon with some snorkelling and then swim your way to the back end of Maya bay. It was great watching the last tourist boat leave and being all alone on the beach.
It was a very chilled night, there is some drinking, dancing, music, fire shows etc but you are pretty much free to do whatever you want. The dinner and chicken supper were yum and the drinks were strong! Don't go on this trip if you don't have an open mind and definatly don't go if you don't like bugs as there are a few (you are in Thailand)!!

Excellent knowledge of the island and the animals and fish in Maya Bay.The guides were friendly and keen to interact and learn about where the guests came from. The food and accommodation were great and a fanastic experience to start and wonderful holiday!Bravo and thank you to Phil and staff!

I am so glad that I spent the money to do this trip. At $75.00 per person it is expensive by SE Asia standards but the experience itself is so worth it. I went in March and although it was dry season then, we got poured on, but that just added to the experience. I had gone to Maya Bay during the day and it was packed with tourists which really ruined the experience. The best part of this trip is that you and your fellow campers are the only tourists on the island and you have the place to yourself from before sunset to after sunrise the next monring. The guides serve up a great Chicken Curry dish for dinner. Like I said, it did rain most of the time, but a lot of the rock croppings are large enough for a large group to sit underneath and watch the rain fall. When it did clear, it was an amazing experience to walk around the island in the dark with light from the moon. Sleeping under the open sky was an incredible experience and I hope to make it back some day to repeat the trip! Only complaint is that the bartender was really drunk and mumbling incoherently to himself so we couldn't get a nightcap before we went to bed.. . I could have used this to deal with the pesky crabs and nice!

I booked this trip as a last minute decision on Christmas Day. From the moment we were picked up on the Reggae boat Chocolate and the other guys were great hosts. We stopped for some snorkelling on the way to the Bay and by the time we got there it was completely deserted. Cue some great Thai food, lots of drinks, music and even some fire poi and the whole evening was a great beach party. Accommodation is literally sleeping on the beach (there is a small shelter in case it rains) so bring bug spray and just make sure you wake up in time to see the incredible sunrise on the other side of the island !
