Not much positive to write about this place. Some of the staff are friendly. They have Wifi. That's about it.
As for the rest--Coral Bay is one of the worst places I have ever stayed during 3 months in all of S/E Asia.
Took a bungalow with a shared bathroom. Bungalow and bathroom were equally disgusting and inhospitable.
Bungalow still had dirty sheets from the previous guest. The sheets were covered in sand. There was no top sheet--just a very small (about 1m sq), dirty blanket. The very uncomfortable bed and pillows reeked of mold. The roof had several sizable holes in it. The mosquito net had quite a few large holes in it. The light bulbs along the path and rocks to the bungalow were all burned out or broken, making climbing over the rocks at night less than easy or safe.
The shared bathroom was not something I would wish upon an enemy. It was dirty and disgusting. There was no place to set anything down or hang anything. The only place to put your clothes and toiletries while you shower is on the dirty floor--with no protection from the shower or water. There was one small POS plastic shelf, below the mirror, that was barely hanging off the wall, at a steep angle, making it completely useless.
The worst part of Coral Bay is the awful, loud music that the farang who run the Coral Bay beach bar blast directly down the beach all day and night. The music is horrible. And the music is horribly loud (you can hear it all the way at the other end of the beach). Coral Bay shows no concern, respect or regard whatsoever for the three other bungalow operations in Haad Khom, their guests (or even CB's own guests). Almost of which have traveled halfway around the world to enjoy one of the best beaches on KPN.
Out of the 4 bungalows operating in Haad Khom, Coral Bay is the worst.
I would have given them 1 star is some of the staff weren't friendly.
