This hotel has so much potential, if only the rooms and hotel grounds had been maintained! Hotel is not easy walking distance to Haad Rin (and certainly not very safe due to the winding hilly road with no path and crazy drivers). A tuk tuk ride between the hotel and the centre of Haad Rin was 50baht per person and takes about 3-5 minutes. The hotel charges the same if they are free to drop you in to town.
The best part about this hotel would be the views- breathtaking. As soon as we walked in to our room we were greeted with a wall of glass looking out over the ocean to Koh Samui. Our room had a balcony but alas- no furniture to sit out and enjoy the view. A few people were taking the plastic furniture from the restaurant to put on their balcony so they could sit outside and have a drink.
Breakfast was a bit of a let down, minimal selection compared to many asian hotels I have stayed in previously. Free internet in the reception area was a good perk. Disappointed to wake up on new years eve to find the hotel had run out of water- surely if the hotel is fully booked this is something you would keep track of? Not too sure how long this took to fix, we had a day trip booked so went to a friend's hotel to shower. Another issue was the curtains- not block out and being cream in colour meant that it was difficult to sleep when the sun came up.
