We stayed on the 2nd floor, above the restaurant in the main building. Never were disturbed by any noise, though. The sound insulation between the rooms is also good. Nevertheless, if I booked now, I would prefer a bungalow in the garden, which is more private, as the balconies in the main bulding are only divided with low partitions, and you can always see your neigbours on both sides.
The hotel has nice grounds with lots of greenery, but very small wooden deck with sunbeds, so we always had to get up early to make sure we find sunbeds still available, because the resort is quite big and seemed to be full.
The beach was a very narrow stripe of sand, fully flooded at high tides, so there is no alternative to the deck.
The massage at the hotel spa was disappointing. The girls seemed not to know what they were doing, so in order not to harm the clients, they were just doing light strokes rather than real massage.
Right behind the hotel is a small village with few shops, laundry and ATM machines, which is convenient. However, the hotel is quite far from the main road, so you can's easily catch a songthaew to go to Thongsala or any place else - and the taxi is quite pricey.
As for the restaurant, buffet breakfasts were good for us, dinner food was just ok (too bland for our taste), and prices for wine too high. We ate there only once, and afterwards found much nices places along the beach.
In general, we do not regret our choice, but will not be back, as Salad beach did not become our favourite.
