“Best place to stay by a mile in Ton Nai Pan (Noi or Yai)”

Originally locate have stayed here many times over the last ten years. Like most seasoned travellers I like to explore. I always come back to the best places. Baan Panburi offers a real down to earth homely, friendly place to stay. The accomodation and staff are spot on. Very friendly and very helpful, wether it be local knowledge, re-booking flights, organising day trips. All can be done here. The actual beach itself is simply beautiful, with crystal clear waters. I have been to many resorts and smaller family run setups. In my opinion Ban Panburri tick all the right boxes. This I would reccomend as a must for visitors to Koh Phagnan. I have encouraged many friends to visit, and all have been glad they did. All have come back time and time again. The value for money is simply ridiculous. All accomodation is within 100m from beach, with the closest on the beach. Its the staff that makes the place what it is, super friendly, they take pride in everything they do. I am back in Thailand in July for a month and this will be one of my first stops. My fiance is a 5 star best hotel type of girl...When i brought her here for the first time 3 years ago, she was blown away, couldn't stop talking about our hut, hammock, staff and location. Thank god eh...If not i'd have packed her bag myself. Any one that is visiting Thailand's Koh Phagnan shoulake the effort definitely make the effort and visit this dream cove. I have been here with friends, girlfriend, plus girlfriends son and alone. It never fails to please me every time.

“Low cost sea view bungalows”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Baan Panburi recently moved from Thong Nai Pan Noi to Yai, so the wife and I went here to check it out. Situated at the far end of the beach, 3-4 of the 15-20 bungalows have balconies with sea view, while the rest are a stone throw or two further away from the beach.

Great value bungalows, most with both fan and aircon, but without niceties like a tv, safe and fridge. The wifi won't reach beyond the restaurant/reception, the beach and the three bungalows closest to the sea, so if you have a smart phone, you'd better get a sim/subscription with data traffic (the DTAC Happy something works great).

Unless you involve yourself in extreme hunting and/or chemical warfare, you should expect some insects to sneak through the cracks, but as long as you don't keep open food containers inside and keep the fan on while staying inside, neither ants nor moskitoes will bug you.

The staff are all nice and friendly, and do everything to make your stay pleasant.

The food is good, albeit a bit pricey - a cup of coffee costs 60 bath - so we shop around and stock up on drinks and snacks at the nearby 7-11.

“My favorite place I stayed in Thailand!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

This place is amazing. Had an oceanview bungalow that was steps to the clear Gulf waters. This is on a small beach on the northern part of Koh Phagnan so it is much better scenery- trees, peace and quiet- than you will find in the South party areas. It takes a while to get to town (went to full moon party) but was really happy that I wasn't staying in HaadRin, it would have been impossible to get good sleep. They would bring food from the restauarant across to the bungalow patio.. PARADISE!! You would never find anything like this anywhere else for the price. Oh, yes, and there was hot water in the shower; major PLUS in Thailand :) Couldnt be happier with my stay. Will definitely come back.

Room Tip: Stay at an Ocean View AC room. . worth it!

“Love that place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

We're lucky to get the best house in the village-right on the beach sand and fantastic views. Best restaurant in that area. We will definitely come back when we will be again in Koh Phangan. Note: be careful with motorbike rentals in the town, specially shinny ones, they'll rip you off on the return. Never leave your passport as the security!

“misleading”

We booked here from the internet in the uk for the full moon party and we were quite pleased with ourselves as it looked lovely and it was very cheap. However, our smiles were soon wiped off our faces once we arrived. Firstly, there was no sort of information as to where the reception is when you come off the main road, someone staying in the huts had to come out to tell us where to go. Once we had checked in to our bungalow hut this is where it started to go down hill....the room could just about fit a bed in it and the walls around the ceiling had massive gaping holes so basically anything could crawl in at night. The bathroom was disgusting, no hot water (which was not advertised online) and no flush on the toilet, so you had to use a pan of water. We ended up upgrading to a room that actually had no holes in it and it came with aircon but no fridge or t.v. The amount you are paying is way over the top compared to elsewhere and we would not recommend anyone to come here. The only saving grace was the beach, it was gorgeous and there were a good couple of bars on the beach, one bar had a fire show (we saw these people performing at the full moon party).
Food in the restaurant was reasonable and the taxi to the full moon was not badly priced (not that you had a choice mind). Staff need to work on their customer service skills, not very friendly which is offputting.
I would suggest looking elsewhere as this is really bad value for money
