I've been to Ko Pha Ngan four times since 2003, and always end up back at the Baan Panburi. It is still affordable and quieter than the rest of the island, and the fish bbq is amazing at night time! Though the beds are, by Western standards, a bit firm, nowhere in Thailand that I've traveled can match Baan Panburi's value for what you get. I have been here solo, with friends and with a partner, and have loved it every time.

My main worry about it, though, is not the hotel itself, but with the development of the beach. In recent years it's been getting busier and busier with more partiers, rather than remaining the quiet, more sleepy side of the island.

You pay for location here. The beach is beautiful and the bungalows are at the far end of the beach and so the location is quiet. The bungalows are not huge but have en suite shower rooms and aircon. The only downside for me would be that a couple of the members of staff were rude and unhelpful.

Me and my son stayed at Baan Panburi for four nights. We had a beach front bungalow. It is not fancy bungalows, and the AC is rally old and noisy, but we loved it! They clean the room every day and also turn down the room in the evening. The staff is so varm and welcomming - makes you really feel like one of the family. They also have one of the best restaurants in the area.
The beach is really shallow with rocks in the summer, especially in front of Baan Panburi, but if you walk further down the beach there are no rocks so you can swim. Every afternoon you can play beach volleyball or football. Great fun!
We will definately stay here again.

This is a very very nice resort on the beautiful, still 'quite' beach of Thong Nai Pan Yai. The service is great and friendly and al the bungalows are near the beach. If there is something like a broken lamp or a gekko in your bungalow they will immediately fix it and make up your room just as a service. We loved it here.
