I just returned from a backpacking trip in Thailand with a friend of mine. We just stayed a week in Bottle Beach 1 and had a great time. The bungalows are very nice and affordable, the beach is gorgeous, the staff is friendly and helpfull. You dan call em anywhere on the island for cheap transportation (other taxi's/boats charge a lot more). They are also helpfull in planning trips and transportation (to BKK for example). So i can only highly recommend this place. I know i'll be coming back someday.

From the moment you come around the headland on the longtail boat and see Bottle Beach getting closer, you know you've made the right choice to come here.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 days around Full Moon Party time. The staff are very friendly (Special mentions to Yos, Teeky and the Chef). The atmosphere is laid back but fun at the same time. The staff like to joke and chat with you and bend over backwards to make your stay one to remember. We arrived two days before full moon and one day after. The staff organised taxis to take us there and pick us up (with two return time options). We even partied with Yos and Teeky at the full moon party).

The rooms are ok. Beds are comfy and have mossie nets. The bathrooms aren't the best, but for a quick shower they do there job. We didn't really spend much time in the room as the bar, pool and beach was so much more inviting.

We came here to relax before and after the full moon party. It is secluded so once you arrive there's really no point leaving unless its for the full moon party or its the day you actually leave to head home or go to the next place on your itinery.

We met some great people here, from many different backgrounds. Bottle beach is a beautiful beach and not touristy like other parts of the island. I'd thoroughly recommend checking it out. If you're unsure, then head there for a day trip or one night and if you like (which I'm sure you will), you can always book for longer.

Bottle beach is a lovely beach, but slightly ruined by all the day trippers that arrive. We satyed there for 5 nights. It is very relaxed, only 4 places to stay/restaurants on the beach. We had a carrot hut in the resort and paid 1000TB a night. We got a lot more from just an extra 200TB that we were paying for a hut at another beach (Pan Yai) Dont expect to be served quickly at the restaurant, you often have to ask for things more than once! The waiters are more interested in trying to be funny than giving good service!!

Just returned home after 2 weeks on Bottle Beach and specifically at Bottle Beach 1. We met friends there that return every year and we also had friends and family meet us there. Bottle Beach is the sort of place that when you arrive you kick off your shoes and then don't put them on again until you leave.

The staff at Bottle Beach 1 surpassed themselves this year. They are a hard working bunch and give everything they've got to ensure your stay is memorable. We had booked several large dinners for birthdays and a wedding and the food was fantastic. The children's party the staff organised was excellent, they even set up a stage for the kids to dance on - the kids loved it. One member of staff, who all the kids loved used his valuable break times to entertain the kids swimming and kayaking - wonderful stuff.

I've said it previously, don't come expecting luxury, although there are some really lovely bungalows with spa baths, but do come with an open mind and an open heart, you either get Bottle Beach or you don't, but many people do get it judging by the amount of return guests that come back.
