Stayed in a Garden View Bungalow at the Ocean View Resort from 16 Dec until 02 Jan. The room is spacious and reasonably appointed with TV, fridge, safe (ask reception for a padlock), aircon and decent storage – there’s even a hammock on the veranda for whiling away a few lazy hours with a chang or three! The bathroom could do with a bit of refurbishment (and perhaps a bit of basic maintenance as it took 20 minutes with a pin to get the shower in working order).
The hotel has its own travel centre,but I would recommend heading across the road to Aleenas for a better deal (and they will also do your laundry for you). There is also a small swimming pool to cool off in, though don’t expect to be swimming lengths if you're a fitness fanatic. There is wi-fi that is somewhat temperamental but a decent speed when working.
Breakfast has a couple of options and the restaurant and Koala Bar (attached, but not officially part of the hotel) offer a great menu and a spectacular location to watch Lantas amazing sunsets (chang in hand, obviously!)
Klong Dao Beach has many hotels to chose from (I’ve stayed in 3 over the years) and its always a personal choice dependant on what you want but the Ocean View is nicely located and reasonably good value for money – the are certainly worse places to watch the sunset from!

We have just spent nine amazing days at the Ocean View Resort, and I must say I have no idea why people do not give this place top marks.

From the second we were picked up by a lovely, chatty lady with great English skills at Saladan Pier to our last night giving goodbye hugs to the staff, everything was perfect. And for the price of 1400 baht in high season, it was a steal! Yes, we chose the cheapest room with a fan, but it was more than good enough, with a fridge, a tv, free drinking water every day, a hot shower and daily cleaning. Oh, and only a 20 meter walk to a beautiful, not too crowded beach. After working in China and partying in Phuket, this was the relaxing place we were looking for.

But the number one thing about this place is the bar and restaurant, The Koala Bar, run by a friendly Australian and with the nicest waiter you could ever meet! Aman (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) is an absolute gem, always happy and helpful, and just an all-round fantastic guy. On top of that, the food is the best we had on the island, even though we visited much pricier places. And with a huge, yummy strawberry margarita for just 100 baht, we soon realised there was no reason to go anywhere else.

Ida & Truls

We booked 3 nights at the Ocean View Resort. We arrived in the evening and it turned out that they gave our room to someone else. I had informed them in advance that we would be arrriving late. The god thing was that they at least had made arrangements and booked a room for us at the nearby Bee Garden, where we ended up staying for nearly 3 weeks.

I looked around the resorrt which looked okay. The pool was very small and the bungalows did not exactly look new.

But we kept coming back to their beach restaurant for dinner. In our opinion the best one on Klong Dao beach! Nice and friendly service and great food!

This resort have a nice location at the Klong Dao beach. Pool is very tiny and small.
Stayed in a 'seaview bungalow' which was fine.
The only drawback is that some of the bungalows is located very close to the mainroad. So some of the paradise feeling got lost as it sometimes felt like staying in the middle of the highway.
There are some cheap plastic chairs chairs outside each bungalow, and a hammock. Worked ok, but not very nice. Also very close to the bungalows on each sides, no privacy at all. Cleaning was ok and there was a fridge in the room. A/C worked and TV worked. Bathroom was ok, water pressure in shower poor.

Breakfast was good with 4-5 choices.
Restaurant is pricy but with good food. A little mart across the road with good prices.

English skills of the people worked here are poor. ( I mean bad )
Some of them do not able to communicate in english at all.


All in all i think this is OK value for money.
Would maybe go there again.
