The walk into reception speaks volumes - a run down, tired looking place. Stayed in a deluxe sweet, the bedroom is up to par with a large bed, sofa tv etc. But the bathroom wasn't as nice. Stains on the shower tiles and around the bath. The patio is simply concrete, and the gardens are badly maintained, there is just no care. Beach isn't great, mud like sand at there end, but take a walk further up and it gets a bit better. Staff are helpful and pleasant and the pools pretty good if you've got kids.

For me I won't be revisiting.

Velmi dobré ubytování , kousek od Long beache s výborným koupáním i za odliviu(cca 10 minut pěšky) a přimo na plží Klong Dao plné rušného života a plážových barů.Také do vesnice Saladan s restauracemi s mořskými specilaitami je to po pláži cca 30 minut volné chůze.

We had a fantastic two weeks at Holiday Villa. Our bungalow was spotless, and extremely spacious. We opted for a Garden Villa and we were delighted with our choice. My one tiny gripe would be that some of the colourful detailing on the outside of the bungalows was looking a little tired and were ready for a lick of paint, but this did not in any way spoil the place for us.
The resort is located right at the end of the beach so is very quiet. It is in fact next to a sea gyspy village, which was interesting to watch. The longtail boats are moored nearby and this added to the atmosphere.
The sea is clear blue and although there are some rocks in the water directly outside the resort, within 2 minutes walk up the beach the rocks disappear. Having said this you can swim directly outside the hotel as there aren't that many rocks and they are visible.
The restaurant and beach bar at the resort serve amazing thai food and also a good range of western food that my fussy 5 and half year old was very happy to eat. There are also numerous hotels along the beach of which were all gorgeous.
The pools are beautiful and kept clean. Both have slides for children, however one is shallow enough for children to stand in and the other has a deeper end. There are plenty of sun beds around the pools and enough shade and parasols for all. No need for anyone to get up before the crack of dawn to 'bag' a sun bed!!

To summarise, I would definately stay at Holiday Villa again. I have been to Koh Lanta 3 times in total and this is by far the nicest place I have stayed.

We spend our first night on Lanta on Lanta Marine Park View Resort. We had reservations for six nights however ended up checking out after one night. Instead we found this place. Maybe not at cosy and exotic as Marine Park View Resort but soooooo much more comfort! The garden villa was spacey, the beds ok (twin beds put together though, don't get that) and the bathroom modern. The location on the southern part of the main beach was ok as we found Kantieng beach too deserted (and rocky). Here there was a bit more life, althogh not crowded at all (we were rather surprised by the empty beaches and restaurants).

We have a good stay for five nights. No frills, but clean and comfortable. Probably more suited for families (the hotel had a pool) or groups as the villas could accomodate at least four people.
