“An average resort with a bad restaurant but good family rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

An average resort. The staff (are nice but) speaks little English but a friendly. The food is really not good so eat somewhere else. An empty restaurant at night tells you, that you might seek elsewhere for good food. And the breakfast buffet is below average. We recommend you Also go a few minutes down the beach to eat at Slow Down or Green Lime (just next door).Location is on the beach near rocks and fishing place. You need to go 5 minutes down the beach to swim. The family beach bungalow is good. Is provides space and is ok value for money. The rooms are clean and the view is lovely. We had the villa in the back which also had a small garden outside. The pool areas was ok for the big children (age 8 and 11). We would not go back to this resort - also there was a lot of noise from a nearby disco or something which bothered our sleep. So al in all - we would go back to Lanta but definately stay somewhere else.

“Great for Families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

We found this resort by accident as the one we were booked into on another part of the island didn't work out. Because of this, I had to quickly look at a local map of hotels and then started emailing each one. Within a few hours, the staff at Holiday Villa emailed me back and was happy to show me around that evening. Great customer service at the front desk and those that helped us in our room.

On short notice that evening, we looked at two types of accomodation. The first were two huge connecting rooms in the back of the resort. The other was a bungalow right beside the pool and we choose this one as we could fit our entire family in using a couch bed and two single beds. The main bedroom was large and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was huge and the first one of all the hotels in Thailand that had a bathtub. For the money, we had one of our best experiences. There are many villas, while ours was right by the pool and we liked that for our children, there are several that face the water and on a quiet part of the beach.

There are two clean pools at the resort, a large one good for swimming in and a smaller one that essentially is there for a large waterslide. My children had the best time using that slide!

There is a restaurant right by the pool where we had breakfast buffet each morning (very good) and then lunch. There is also a place to each by the beach. What I liked about this resort is that it didn't feel crowded even though it was very full. For example, we always found chairs by the pools.

The only negative is that if you want to have a beach, you don't really have one right in front of the resort but will find a good spot just a five minute walk down the beach.

This resort is also on one of the best beaches in Koh Lanta with plenty of good restaurants for evening dinner just a 5 or 10 minute walk down the beach.

When in Koh Lanta again, this resort is at the top of our list to go back to.

“Lovely Stay at Holiday Villa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 November 2011

We are a couple who stayed at Holiday with some friends and my parents - it was a great choice of accommodation and suited all of us. The weather wasn't perfect while we were in Lanta so the pool and pool area was ideal for lazing around, grabbing some food/drinks, playing table tennis etc. We didn't use the beach as much as we did on our previous stay on Lanta.

We stayed in their Deluxe Room (downstairs in bungalow with Junior Suite rooms above). The rooms are big and clean, the bathroom a little dated but it was ok. We had everything we needed and the resort and rooms were kept very clean. Our room was set in the hills at the end of the beach, only a few steps up so this wasn't a problem. The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful and the food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced.

The resort is located right at the southern end of Klong Dao, away from the noise of the bars but only a 5 min walk along the beach to a good selection of places to eat and drink. You can't see the sunset at the far southern end of the beach so you need to walk 5 mins north to ....a good excuse to check out what Klong Dao has to offer.

The atmosphere in Lanta is lovely and the locals are so welcoming. Lanta is very small so it's easy to get around and check out the other beaches, either on a scooter or the tuk tuk style taxis that seem to easy to find.

Room Tip: If steps are going to be a problem, make this known when you book.

“Quiet hotel with spacious rooms”

Helpfull and friendly staff.
Pool area could have been more clean and maintained and the garden as well.
Especially when travelling with children it is great to have a separate bedroom as you can get here in (all?) the bungalows.
We had a beach-side bungalow but for med this was more a sea-view. I expected to have nothing betwen our bungalow and the beach and therefor was a bit dissapointed.
Walk 100 meter on the beach to get better swimming-conditons becauae in front of the hotel there are boats and stones/rocks

“Run down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 November 2010 via mobile

The walk into reception speaks volumes - a run down, tired looking place. Stayed in a deluxe sweet, the bedroom is up to par with a large bed, sofa tv etc. But the bathroom wasn't as nice. Stains on the shower tiles and around the bath. The patio is simply concrete, and the gardens are badly maintained, there is just no care. Beach isn't great, mud like sand at there end, but take a walk further up and it gets a bit better. Staff are helpful and pleasant and the pools pretty good if you've got kids.

For me I won't be revisiting.
