“Nice but needs upgrading”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Pretty and charming hotel with nice rooms however not child-friendly at all, also needs a bit of upgrading. The restaurant is not so good, pricey and the food is below average, there are much better places along the main road.
The beach is nice but there's a steep slope so no running on the beach. Also there are many rocks just outside the resort which makes swimming a little tricky at times.

“A Perfect Island Hideaway”

Our daughter and son-in-law and my husband and I stayed in two charming bungaloos at this lovely resort. We never needed to leave the resort as it had all of the amenities in a beautiful beach setting. The comfortable beach chairs, pool, powdery white sand, turqoise warm water and beach side dining made this a paradise. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff always cheerful and helpful. Highly recommend this resort for couples or families.

Room Tip: Because the rooms are located across the street and up some fairly steep stone steps, request one cl...

“Different to the norm!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

What will strike you about this hotel is how close to nature you get. All bungalows are on stilts, across the road from reception up a steepish hill. All are quite rustic and basic, but clean and quite comfortable. If you like your mod cons don't stay here. if you like charm then do. The bungalows sit in a rainforest surroundings and the noise that accompany such a setting at night can be quite strange to say the least. No matter what the hotel offers in terms of seaview, this is not possible given the setting and the tree growth around each bungalow. We were there during some heavy rain and this can make the walk to accommodation quite interesting!!. Hotel setting is on a pleasant beach and this makes up for the ok breakfast, with regard to eating out, If you turn right you will hit a number of bars and restaurants. Just a mention here as we were caught out. Lanta has a Muslim influence and as such some resturants will not touch alcohol. The bar beside the resturant will serve the drink and bill you seperately. We didn't realise this and having paid we got up to leave only to be chased down the beach by a rather angry bar owner. As beer and food is quite cheap we didn't give a second thought to the total on the bill.
Hotel hires motor bikes at 300bht per day and head south to the more remote but attractive southern beaches. Staff very good with queries: Avoid using the hotel laundry service: costs are outrageous: Walk 50 mtres up the road and they charge 40bht per kilo. ATMs about 10 mins away by foot. We arrived by boat: one tip avoid the immediate rush for tuk tuks when you arrive. Head to the restaurant beside the pier. Have a beer, watch the free for all as people negotiate the ferry terminal and the rather zealous lady who demands 10bht per person as a 'keep krabi clean' tax when you arrive. Make sure you have it ready or she starts banging the table in anger. Also by waiting you will get a better price to the resort. 200 to 250bht is ok but no more.
Will go bakc to Lanta but try somewhere else next time.

“Great place to stay amongst the bush”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

There is no shortage of resorts on Koh Lanta, and after a little research we settled upon SriLanta for our holiday. Their slogan "where nature rather than luxury awakens the senses" fits the resort perfectly. We flew from Bangkok to Krabi, where we were picked up by the hotel shuttle and taken to the ferry, which the shuttle boards, and is ferried to lovely Koh Lanta in just over 2 hours. The resort facilities are on the beachfront, with cute bungalows on the hillside behind. The hotel is 10 years old but has been well looked after and the staff are excellent, all very keen to make your stay an enjoyable one. This is probably truest for the manager who seems to be on site at all hours and will organize restaurant bookings, day trips and give information on the resort. The restaurant is great and the Thai food superb but the buffet breakfast is a little lacking. The beach is clean, with clear water and many small fish, but directly in front of the hotel is very rocky and not really swimmable at low tide. Unlike Koh Chang, Samui and Phuket, the beaches are relatively quiet and it is easy to swim or snorkel in peace. We would certainly return and would be happy to recommend the resort and this miniature yet beautiful island to friends.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Star Path at the top of the hillside. Lovely to be amongst the trees.

“Beautiful beach. Warm and friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We spent 5 days here while my boyfriend learned to scuba dive. We had a standard room - be advised all rooms require going up some fairly steep steps and then some slightly uphill walking depending on how far back your room is set. The room was basic but, clean and the bed very comfortable. The beach is heaven. Never crowded, crystal clear water, great swimming, beautiful sand. The sunsets were incredible. The staff is very friendly and warm (when we arrived, we asked to make some change for the tuk tuk driver - 350 baht from the ferry - and the lady at the front desk didn't have enough change for 1000 but offered to just loan me the 350 from her purse. The restaurant staff was very friendly and the food delicious. The place was fully booked but there didn't seem to be many people around - there were always enough sun decks on the beach or by the pool. The spa was heaven. Honestly, the best massages we've had after a month in Thailand and Cambodia. Pa (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) was incredible. I miss her.
The hotel is further down the coast but, there is a shopping area close enough to walk to and many restaurants and tour operators nearby. If you don't want a scooter, there are always taxis out front to take you places, including Saladan, which is only about 20 minutes away. Being further away from the ferry was great for the quiet and relaxation I was looking for while I could easily get to more populated areas if I felt like it.
Koh Lanta was a special treat after the business of Railay. And a great value for what you get for the price. Definitely, one of our favorites of the trip. Highly recommend this place.
