There is no shortage of resorts on Koh Lanta, and after a little research we settled upon SriLanta for our holiday. Their slogan "where nature rather than luxury awakens the senses" fits the resort perfectly. We flew from Bangkok to Krabi, where we were picked up by the hotel shuttle and taken to the ferry, which the shuttle boards, and is ferried to lovely Koh Lanta in just over 2 hours. The resort facilities are on the beachfront, with cute bungalows on the hillside behind. The hotel is 10 years old but has been well looked after and the staff are excellent, all very keen to make your stay an enjoyable one. This is probably truest for the manager who seems to be on site at all hours and will organize restaurant bookings, day trips and give information on the resort. The restaurant is great and the Thai food superb but the buffet breakfast is a little lacking. The beach is clean, with clear water and many small fish, but directly in front of the hotel is very rocky and not really swimmable at low tide. Unlike Koh Chang, Samui and Phuket, the beaches are relatively quiet and it is easy to swim or snorkel in peace. We would certainly return and would be happy to recommend the resort and this miniature yet beautiful island to friends.
Room Tip: We stayed in the Star Path at the top of the hillside. Lovely to be amongst the trees.
