“The best Resort with best view in Munnar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

This is the first place I visited after my marriage and I would describe the location and Resort as marvelous. Though the resort is staying bit far from the town I would say it is best because its in the middle of the tea Gardens. There is no proper road to the resort but its worth staying there. As Munnar is famous for tea gardens, I can say you will have enjoy the tea gardens just by staying in this resort. we reached late night to the resort and the next day morning when I woke up at 6, all the tea gardens around are partially covered with snow and that was a breath taking view.

Even the staff and service is good. The food is so tasty and we enjoyed the kerala food a lot. I would surely recommend this resort to all who are planning to visit munnar.

“You will Listen to the Song of Nature”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2010

I stayed in Camelot with my family for 2 nights and 3 days and we enjoyed the complete stay at this Resort, Especially i want to mention about Mr.Dileep who is very friendly and very loving nature which made us happy. And the food is awesome, In fact I have been searching for such place and finally found this beautiful resort located in top of the hill with fantastic scenery around. You can hear the different bird songs in this calm location, I want to recommend 100% this place to everyone. You will not be disappointed. Have a good trip.

Thanks

“Alone in Nature”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2009

We stayed 3 nights (perhaps a night too many) in Camelot and it was fine; we were in one of the bungalows (which unfortunately had a neighbor right next door for the first night); the bed was comfy, view lovely and water hot. It is totally isolated, in fact the rickshaw couldn't make it up the last leg of the hill, but nature is what we wanted and the walks around the hotel were magical (beware of leeches in the tea plants). I would say - go for a night or two to take in the view and nature. All in all not great but not too bad.

“Bad Experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2008

I had booked a 4 night package which was paid fully in advance. This place is secluded in a far of hill in munnar with very less occupancy. After 1-2 days the place started to feel very scary as we were the only couple staying there in the middle of an isolated hilltop. Since this place was not completely secure by a boundary wall (no wonder as their USP is camp resort!!), during night there was lot of strange disturbing noises probably by snakes or animals that sneaked inside the property. Though for adventure lovers it might be an ideal ambience but hardly so for honeymooning couple. Certainly the experience was far from that I had expected. We decided to return back after 2 nights at the resort but got a rude shock from the owner who refused to give any refund. This guy claimed to be a big shot of munnar and had political connections in Delhi. He even showed a gun that he was carrying to suggest that it is a safe place and we need not worry. But rather than reassuring us, it scared us even more. We managed to see through the remaining nights by staying in the city for most of the day....and being in public places of the resort and sleeping with lights on...to ward off any angry animals or owner with a gun!!!

Even though we did not like our stay here but I will recommend it only on two conditions -
1.Make sure you are not the only person who has booked at that point of time, check about occupancy levels
2. Make sure you don't stay long or pay entire amount in advance.

While returning back from this place I had to promise my wife that I will take her to a better honeymoon than this nightmarish one...and which I managed to do after a year by taking her for a fortnight trip to mauritius !!!!

“Avoid this place”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2008

We stayed at this place for 2 nights. I will touch upon the facilities section wise
Rooms
It offers luxury, deluxe and standard rooms. Luxury room are bit spacious and the other rooms are compact. Rooms are located very close by and the adjacent room noise easily creeps in. If you plan to rent out standard room i strongly advice against it. 2 standard rooms are located adjacent to the kitchen and there is constant noise from the kitchen. Deluxe room have better view comapred to the other rooms but is very compact. The only plus point was that room and the toliet were well maintained.
Accessibility/Location
=================
It is located 13 km from the city. Once you enter this place it is cutoff from the city and the only way to visit city is by taxi or auto. Each trip from city to this place is 300 Rs. So if you don't have your own vehicle be prepared to shed extra money for the taxis.
One piece of advice is to book the taxi on your own and to avoid bookings by the resort since they try to make comission in that also.
Food
=====
We got compilmentary breakfast. It was good.I believe food is complimentary since the resort makes up for the cost in the lunch , dinner. Prices are exorbitant. You will have no ther option but to have it at this place.
Facilities
=======
Though the place is located outside the city the view is not picturesque . The so called resort doesn't have heaters, so if you are going with family be prepared for the cold nights. Don't expect any other facility in this place. Cost of a camp fire is 1000 Rs. One tends to get a feeling that resort is trying make money by all possible ways
Over all if possible avoid the place
