Honestly, I never did any background check on this hotel. My friend booked it for us and we went for the deluxe option on offer. Front office was terrible to start off. They had no absolutely no sense of courtesy and it would be fair to them if we were to assume that they graduated from the worst hotel management institute on the planet!

Room was ok. Bathroom was clean and I liked the shower system a lot which was the only bright spot as far as staying there was concerned. The location of the hotel is definitely something that is worth talking about. centre of it all. Apart from that, nothing shined out. Definitely wont go there a second time!

Booked online through lonely planet. What an absolute waste. The staff were so rude we left after one night. Of course couldn't get money back. Do not choose this hotel. It is outdated and with the exception of bell mens, service was the worst we had in india.

Basically there are only two reasons you would want to stay there.
1) You are a budget business traveller. How lucky!
2) You like to indulge in gambling and doesnt want to drive to your shack near the beach area when you are drunk.

If latter is the case, many casinos provide a drop back to your location. If that is the case, then dont stay here. The breakfast is just not good at all. Its not something you would like to get up early in a city like Goa, that too after a wild wild night.

Mandovi has one thing good: the location. All the rest is the worst you can imagine. we booked two standard rooms, and one of the bathrooms had moss at the wall! The bed was absolutely awful and the walls let you ear what happens on the other rooms. We were so disgusted we tried to move to another hotel, but due to the dates (it was december, a very crowded period), we couldn't do it. However, I asked for a better room, and they gave us two Deluxe Suites, wich had a great sight over the Mandovi river, but was that, the rest was the same as the standard room.
the facilities are not washed properly, so the floor was dirty! I think they only sweep, dont wash with water! However, the restaurant Riorico isn't that bad, but is a little expensive.
The recepcionist has serious difficulties on speaking and understaning the english, wich is astonishing, as it is the official language.
The price is low, of course, but I think any developed country's person wont feel good at the Mandovi. It might be a worth 3-star for the Indian standards, but in comparison with other modern hotels in Goa, like Forte da Aguada or Hyatt, it is simply a crap..
