The room was on the 3rd floor over looking the lake. BEAUTIFUL view!!! The sun is fully up at 4:30 A.M., because it woke me up every morning. The corner room had only a sheer curtain on the east side and my bed was directly facing east. There was a sheer curtain with 3 panels of solid fabric that could be adjusted to cover the sliding glass door opening onto the balcony.

The carpet was stained and dirty burnt orange. The furnishings looked like they were from a 1970s LaQuinta. The doorknob came off in your hand and the door had no security latch or chain. Sometimes, the water would just disappear...

The ballroom windows could not be completely covered for showing a video.

There were not any of the amenities one would expect with a ***** hotel. The food was good, especially the salads and desserts. There was an extra charge for an extra juice or cola.

Taxis to and from town cost about 150 MKD. One tried to charge us 200 MKD but had no meter and changed his charge when we protested.

We stayed at the Inex Gorica for five nights in July 2008.
The hotel seems to be a former yugoslavian-communist-party-hotel, that was renovated. As the renovation was not done too perfect, you still can see that e. g. at the doors, which were not changed.
The hotel is located about 2 km outside the oldtown, but a one-way trip by taxi costs only 130 - 180 Denar (about 2 - 3 EUR)
Don´t let the five stars (which they gave themselves obviously) guide you - there are no special facilities in the hotel, our room had no safe and the nearby beach ist not a private hotel beach, but a public one. E.g. we found nobody to give us beach towels and we had to pay for our sunbeds.
If you don´t mind that, Gorica is a fine hotel. Our room was clean and quiet, the staff was very friendly an helpful and the breakfast was o.k. too.
If you book this hotel, try to make sure that you get a room with lake-view, because that view (just watch the pic I added) is definitely unbeatable.
By the way, we contacted the hotel directly and the offered us a price far below the prices mentioned on the booking-pages.
Alltogether we had a fine stay at the Gorica and can recommend it to anyone, that is not counting stars but looking for an appropriate hotel.

Excellent room with amazing view of lake, comfy beds and immaculate bathroom.

Restaurant food was good and incredibly cheap. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Will return on next visit.

There are around 400 stairs to be taken to the beach and there are almost no facilities there as you would expect from a five star Hotel.

Complaining about this to the director, a young lady with no knowledge whatsoever of English did not work.
She has been very snobby and finally only the chief of the reception desk could help me out to restore the water in our room.

This is my 4th. time to Ohrid, I will come again but will never ever come to Gorica!
