“Great place to stay while taking some time out in a pretty little town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2010

Lovely, well-run little boutique-type hotel located at town centre of Suchi.
Only stayed a couple of days and one night but we had an excellent time there.
Excellent breakfast included.
Large, simply but stylishly decorated guest rooms - all i think with amazing balconies overlooking the town square and all the goings on there, well appointed bathrooms (with hot showers etc), - overall muy romantico.
A bit noisy in the day time but the action dies down pretty rapidly after dark, so getting a quiet night for sleeping on an 'average' night shouldn't be a problem.
If you're in El Salvador and need a short break, you could do much worse than to check into the Las Puertas in Suchi for a couple of nights.

“one of the best ever!”

During our two week trip to El Salvador- this hotel and this town were the highlight! The hotel rooms are beautiful, the staff great, and the location is fantastic (unless you need a very quiet place).
The location is right on the main square, and this is the type of town you can fall in love with. Other hotels around town have swimming pools and a couple have views of the lake, but all things considered we were happy we chose Las Puertas.
As the town and hotel were very quiet on New Year's Eve, the chef brought us (a few of the hotel patron's sitting outside) a bottle of champagne! We stayed for four nights and will definitely go back!

“charming and beautiful hotel”

We spent one night at the beautiful and charming Hotel Las Puertas de Suchitoto and wished that we could have stayed longer. The rooms were spacious, the bathroom was very modern, and the balconies had great views of the central plaza and the church. The ambience is very calm and welcoming. While we were there, we met a couple from The Netherlands, a couple from San Salvador, and we were visiting from Texas. They have managed to keep the right balance of modern comfort and old-world style.

“Awesome”

Suchitoto is a great colonial town that is just a wonderful place to visit. Our stay in the town was made that much more fantastic by the awesome hospitality offered by the staff at Las Puertas.

The service was impeccable. The rooms were fantastic and staff were very polite. They catered to our every need at the hotel. The view into the town church and square made it seem as if we were some place in the past where things moved slower and life seemed more peaceful.

The Chef totally outdid himself with the many dishes at the restaurant. I totally recommend Las puertas to anyone that enjoys leaving the life.

“Beautiful, Classy, Clean & Reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2007

We travel a lot, even with our newborn son and we stayed at the hotel after a hectic Christmas visiting family and friends and we loved the experience.

This little town is close to San Salvador, the capital, and we wanted to take a couple of days off before heading back to LA.

The rooms are big, clean, with nice crafts and expensive looking linens, with A/C and fans to cool you out.

The bathroom is a little gem. Water pressure is great, nice clean lines in the sink and good quality towels and toiletries.

A lot of work went into the details of this little hotel. The inside garden is beautifully designed, the big wooden doors, lots of windows and light, and many tasteful decorations make it really unique.

The big surpise was the food...everything we tried was delicious! (International with a touch of local), and the bar invites you to hang around and just relax and tell stories with your friends, while sipping a cold drink.

You really would think that it would have been expensive, but the prices were very reasonable. We stayed at a similar hotel in Antigua, Guatemala, and payed three times as much.

If you are lucky, the little indigo shop will be open...we got great original gifts to take back with us.

Ah! The service!!!!! Everybody was nice and friendly and tried to acccomodate us. We had a great experience.
