the moment we arrrived at Qasr El Bawity, we felt at home, the staff were great, helpful, the dates drink for our welcoming us was tasty, the rooms great, gardens lush and the vegetable garden just great, every one of our family enjoyed one thing.
the trip to the oasis and the white desert was organized by the hotel and it was sure a memorable trip, we would love to come to this paradise over and over again

“A Peaceful Desert Escape - Not For Budget Travelers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2010

We have stayed in this hotel several times and truly enjoy our time there. This is not the budget choice. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head before heading to the desert, there are much cheaper options. GUIDELINES: This is in a desert oasis of Egypt. It is a relatively remote destination - manage your expectations accordingly. No internet, no television, no in-room telephone, refrigerator, etc. TIPS: Allow time to enjoy the property. Slow down... In daytime hours take a hike behind the hotel or in the date palm oasis, cool down with a swim, watch the donkey and horse carts go by, and relax with a book. Enjoy the evening with a soak in the hot springs (limited hours), a delicious hot dinner, and local music around the fire while enjoying tea (and a smoke of the waterpipe if you choose). With advance notice, they arrange 4 by 4 excursions into the nearby white and black deserts.

“Unique Accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 December 2009

This unique hotel is styled in a charming, rustic theme. Each individual bungalow is crafted out of natural materials. Rooms are decorated very nicely, with exposed stone walls, arches and domed ceilings.

Unfortunately, not all rooms have air-con, and can be very hot in the summer. So ensure your room has air-con if you're staying in the hot months. There is a pool, so you can cool down there. They were building a hot spa while we were there too, and expanding the number of rooms.

The dining area and gardens were quite nice. There wasn't any screening around the dining area, so eating can be a little uncomfortable due to the flies in summer. There is also a cute play area for young children.

This shouldn't be listed under "Cairo" because it is situated in Bawity, near Baharia Oasis. It's not easy to find, none of the streets are marked, and there aren't any signs pointing the way. It's probably best to rely on locals to direct you here. This hotel is located in a very quiet area.

Staff are very polite and friendly. Overall, a great place to stay.

“Little paradise in the desert”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2007

Qasr el Bawity Resort was really a great surprise.
The hotel is built according to eco-friendly building techniques and with local materials.
Rooms are very nice and spacious, built with local stones that means that they stay fresh even in the hottest days.
The lodge has also a swimming pool and an incredible private natural hot spring (veeery hot!).
Garden is colorful and is the perfet location where you can have a mint tea under the moon.
Restaurant serves local food. Quality is very good.
The only minus: the resort is still under construction and locals work at night because of the hot temperature during the day causing very noisy night!
