“Fantastic. Room excellent, view superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 June 2011

There was absolutely nothing I could fault about this hotel.

From the hotel staff who ran outside and physically bagged a parking bay for us, to the room with a view right across the channel to the old town. The rooms were newly renovated and fully equipped, and the dining room, in which we had an excellent breakfast buffet was delightful with the feel of a continental cafe.

The location is superb -- just a five minute walk from the old town where you can eat, drink, explore, relax and people watch. The receptionist was particularly helpful in pointing out places of interest we might like to visit while we were staying there.

The view was the biggest draw card. The moment we arrived we threw open the double glazed windows and shutters and let the noises of the sea and the town wash in. We were a little sorry we didn't have the foresight to close them before we went to sleep though, as the church bells at dawn were quite a rude awakening.

There were quite a few stairs, but thankfully someone bought up my 15kg suitcase so unlike in some smaller hotels, I didn't have to lug it up myself.

If you are going to Trogir, don't stay anywhere else. This small hotel with about 8 rooms is all you need and more than you expect.

“Good deluxe room, deserves our appreciation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 May 2011

We took a deluxe room, which is ample and well decorate, and has a power shower.
I find some reviews a bit exaggerated.
1) It is indeed an old building, so you cannot compare it to a modern hotel: there is no lift, rooms are a bit cramped, and it may lack some modern facilities, and the price is higher than normal... well, we want to keep Trogir a charming old town and I prefer not to see modern skyscrapers dotting the horizon.
2) It has a double glazed window and an additional window... so that is triple glazing. They could not do better. But yes, unfortunately there is a disco next door, we did not hear too much sound but the basses are a bit annoying. Disco closes I think at 1 am, so it does not continue the whole night.
3) Actually the noise comes from the plumbing, if next door takes a shower you will hear it loud and clear.
4) Breakfast is decent continental fare. One time I called them to advise them that we would pass it, and the receptionist immediately suggested to bring a tray to our room with orange juice and croissant, this is very welcome.
5) Reception was very helpful to arrange the storage of our luggage and our transfers. Their prices are not cheap, but cars are luxury.
So of course, it is not a 4 stars holiday inn, but it has its charm and you are right in Trogir.

“this is not a 4 star hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 April 2011

I booked this hotel because it was advertised as a 4 star htel with a good location to trogir. Actually, it is true that the location is OK, within 5 min walking distance to trogir. however, the room is extremely small and smell terrible. Also, the bathroom is tiny, and it is so small that i and my wafe can not be in the bathroom at the same time. Plus, th hotel is on 4th floor w/o elevator, so be aware if you have a lot of luggage or kids. Anyway, book this hotel if the price is compatible to any 3 star hotel nearby. I think this hotel should be rated is as 3 star.

“Good location, poor accommodations”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2011

Couldn't get a better location - overlooking old town. But everything else was terrible. Bedspread was stained, room was minuscule, bathroom shower was primitive, lights were dim/burned out. Definitely not 4-star rating as it claims. If you're happy with 2star, give it a look but otherwise avoid this hotel.

“Lovely family run hotel with fantastic views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2010

We stayed here for three nights (on a last minute booking after having been let down by a hotel in Split) in September 2010. It was great - the staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The location was very convenient and the room immaculately clean and very spacious (we had the superior room, which was more like a suite with a separate sitting area). We had windows in three directions from our top floor room, two of which provided fantastic views of the old town. The hotel is an ancient building but has been recently refurbished and is in lovely condition and very well equipped, with free Wifi, satellite TV and even including a sauna in the bathroom. We were made to feel very welcome, and the staff were all very helpful. The breakfast (included in the rate) was freshly cooked to order by a lovely Croatian girl and was very good, particularly the yummy scrambled eggs. The hotel is quite close to the airport so there was some aeroplane noise, but this did not mar our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Trogir and thought the hotel was great, and we woud recommend the hotel as a good base for this area.
